  4. QUESTION:
How long does it take for a blistered wart to go away after being frozen?
I got a big wart on my thumb frozen off. In a few hours a blister developed. Its like a huge bubble with fluid around the wart. The next day the blister or wart didn't go away. In fact, the blister got bigger. It also kinda hurts... When will the blister go away? When will the wart go away?

Wart remover called (freeze off) said not to use on face.

  6. QUESTION:
How do you get rid of a wart on your knee?
I have had a wart on my knee for months. I've bought products from the stores and they don't work. Are there any good home remedies?

    • ANSWER:
Over-the-counter products for warts take time to work as do home remedies. If a lot of time has passed without results you might try the duct tape remedy. You need to cover the wart with a small piece of duct tape and leave it on. The trick is to leave the wart covered for a long period of time.

Warts are actually caused by a virus. Antiviral remedies work but like over-the-counter products, they take time. Try clove oil, tea tree oil, or apple cider vinegar. Apply several times a day.

What appears to be a wart is sometimes something else including cancer. I don't want to scare you, but if your wart doesn't disappear you should see your doctor to rule out other possibilities.

  10. QUESTION:
How to remove a wart using at home treatments?
So I have had my wart for a couple of years now, maybe four. I have gotton it treated at the dermatologist a couple of times of and on. I absolutely could NOT stand the pain anymore. I was literaly crying after. I was wondering what are the most effective at home or drugstore remedies for planter's warts on feet.
Btw I have two of them
    I am 14 yrs old

    • ANSWER:
I think that at this point that the best thing to do is to have it surgically removed or even better, lasered off.

Talk to your parents and express that the treatments are not helping, the pain is getting intolerable and you want them removed once and for all and that you don't want to mess about with freezing treatments anymore as they just are not helping.

That said, you can try at home freezing treatments and chemicals (Compound W and the like).

But in order for them to be effective, you need to get as close to the living skin as you can. The best way is to soak the warts and then use one of the callous removal stones (pumice) and buff that sucker until you can get down to the tender skin that is still living.

THEN you can apply the cold or the Compound W and it will have a better chance of working.

But again, if 4 years of a dermatologist futzing around with them with no real results...it's time to have them out once and for all.

  11. QUESTION:

  13. QUESTION:
What wart removers are safe during your 3rd trimester of pregnancy?
I have a small wart on my palm and want a safe way to remove the wart without harming my body or child

    • ANSWER:
You're going to think I'm a total redneck for this suggestion, but cover it with a piece of duct tape. I'm not sure if it's something in the adhesive or what, but it kills the wart so you can just file it off. It'll take some time, but it's totally safe and painless. A piece of gauze saturated in apple cider vinegar and taped over it will do the same thing a bit faster, but it also stings much more.

  14. QUESTION:
What happens after you get a wart removed?
I'm going to get a wart removed at the doctor's this month and I'd like to know what to expect. How badly does it hurt? How long until the wart is gone? Does it turn a different color? How long do I need to wear a band-aid? I have prom 3 days after the appointment, so I'd just like to know what to expect considering I'll be taking prom pictures. Thanks.

    • ANSWER:
It would hurt much more than u r thinking (if its cautrization), but if they use liquid nitrogen then u might not feel that much pain. 2 weeks after the treatment the wart and its scar approximtaely vanishes.

How can i get rid of a wart on the palm of my hand?
I have had this wart for 3 years now. I have tried everything. I really hate it because it is so ugly and big. I have been to many treatments trying to freeze it off countless times but it has not worked. I have also been twice to get it lasered twice. I also put acid on it twice a day. Do you know of any other treatments to get rid of it?

    • ANSWER:

Sounds like you need a more natural, but stronger remedy to eliminate warts. Try this 100% natural, safe, option. The only product which also acts against the HPV virus:

  16. QUESTION:
How is plantar wart surgery normally carried out and dressed after?
I have 5 plantar warts on the ball of my foot and from the methods I've read about on the Internet, wart removal surgery seems to be the one I'd be most confident with if the antibiotics don't work. My questions are, am I allowed surgery straight off to remove them? Or do I have to try antibiotics first? Also, how is the surgery carried out? What tools are used and what kind I a mark, (not scars, like, chunks out of my foot), would it leave on my foot? Finally, how do they dress the wound after? Is it just a plaster/bandaid? Or is it a bandage or something like that?

    • ANSWER:
Warts are caused by human papillomaviruses (HPV). There are many different subtypes of the virus that cause different kinds of warts on different parts of the body. Plantar warts are common on the soles of the feet. Warts will not respond to antibiotics, since they are caused by a virus and not bacteria. No treatment is 100% effective, but there are several options. You can buy over-the-counter products that contain salicylic acid, like Compound W or Doctor Scholl's. These products come in a liquid and medicated pads. Improvement can be seen in one to two weeks, but the full course of treatment takes between 6 to 12 weeks. Also, with over the counter products, the wart can reappear several months after it is "cured."

The surgery I think you are referring to is called cryotherapy. It is done in a dermatologist's (skin doctor) office, and you do not need to try over the counter products before having this procedure done. It only takes several minutes for the dermatologist to perform. Dermatologists commonly use liquid nitrogen (a very cold substance), and apply it to the skin using a cotton swab. The liquid nitrogen freezes the wart. A blister will form under the wart and after 2 to 4 weeks, the dead skin/wart falls off and reveals newly formed skin under the wart. The procedure is moderately painful, and if done correctly should not scar or leave permanent holes on your foot. It may require more than one treatment. Usually dressing following the procedure is not required, although it may help relieve pressure on the warts if you are walking on the foot. If the blister breaks, I would suggest cleaning the area and covering it with a bandage to prevent the spread of fluid containing the wart virus. Keep in mind this type of procedure can be expensive depending on your medical coverage.

      Sincerely,
      A pharmacy student

  17. QUESTION:
Is it normal to bleed a lot after planters wart surgery?
I just had a painful planters wart removed. Ball of foot under the 2nd to last toe. It is bleeding through several layers of gauze. Is this typical? Could someone point me to more resources dealing with post planters wart surgery and recovery?

    • ANSWER:
You should have ask this question to the doctor or surgeon that remove the wart. S/he went to medical school for this reason, to answer your questions, diagnose and treat your condition.

If you are very concern, then I recommend you call your doctor up.

But as long as you properly follow post-op direction, there is no need to worry.

  18. QUESTION:
What is a really good over the counter wart remover that actually works?
Could someone be kind enough to help me with this question?
My brother in law has developed warts on his forearms and hands. He does not have health insurance so he can't go to the doctor. I reccomened that he go to a free health clinic but he said the wait was too long and he cant miss work. He doesnt have a lot of money, so something that isnt in the 100$ range that is very effective. I know there are some, because I had a wart when I was 12 that perscription meds coundlt get rid of and then someone reccomened this one brand that was over the counter and it worked! Thanks for all your answers andI am very grateful for your time.
Ohh yeah, he had them freezed off a few month ago and it didnt work!

    • ANSWER:
Depends on how many warts .. but your pharmacist sells a patch for a few bucks you have to ask them for one..you cut a little piece of the patch off and put it on the wart .. it sticks like super glue and dissolves the wart over a few days . Good luck

  19. QUESTION:
What are some techniques that I can use to cure a wart from my index finger?
A lady just told me that I can get rid off my wart by rupping it with a banana peal. So I was just wondering if there was any other techniques I can use to get this wart off my index finger. I had it for about a month now. I've been using this Freeze Off product from Compound W. I'm not seeing a change on my wart.

    • ANSWER:
Just use duct tape. Several years ago I had a wart on a finger, I heard this, and tried it. I wrapped a strip of duct tape, wide enough to cover the wart, around my finger, changed it every other day, picking the dead skin away, and eventually the wart. Never came back.

  20. QUESTION:
How can you tell between a wart and a skin tag?
I have a little bump on my leg, i'm guessing it's a wart. And it's not really that big, I've had it for a couple years and I just want to get rid of it. My doctor told me to see a skin doctor to get it removed but I really don't have the time to wait, or the money. Also, I'm skeptical about using over-the-counter wart removers because I don't want to damage my skin or spread more warts. What do you suppose I should do?

    • ANSWER:
A skin tag usually doesn't hurt...warts can sometimes cause discomfort. Warts are usually harder than the surrounding skin and flat, whereas skin tags are soft and usually protrude from or hang off of the skin a little (like a tag). This is probably not a smart idea, but I had a skin tag on my arm when I was a lot younger...about 10 (now 20)... and I took some really sharp scissors that were cleaned with rubbing alcohol and numbed the area with ice befrore snipping it off. There was no blood or anything. If you don't have the time to go to the doctor for treatment, maybe seeing him/ her just to find out what it is would be a good idea. This sounds like a skin tag to me, though. My treatment worked...it never came back, but skin tags can grow back...warts can also take more than one treatment of acid to get rid of completely. My doctor has told me (for plantars warts) that the over the counter treatments don't work.

  21. QUESTION:
Am I supposed to keep applying wart remover after the wart has fallen off?
Okay, so the wart fell off and now i see the little dots or capillaries that were feeding it. Do I leave them alone, or keep applying the medicine?

    • ANSWER:
Those little black dots are the seeds. They have to be removed or the wart will come back. You can try to pick them out with a nail clipper or tweezers.Or keep applying the wart remover.
Edit:also do not touch anything else with your nail clippers or whatever until you clean them with bleach because warts are a virus and can spread.Or be passed to another person.

  22. QUESTION:
Can you go to the beach after getting a wart removed?
I just went to the doctor's today and they applied liquid nitrogen to a wart on the bottom of my foot (I'll have to go back for another treatment in three weeks but she said I can walk on it). It hurts only when I put pressure on it. I just got invited to go to the beach tomorrow, but can you exposed a recently treated wart to sand and the ocean? (I'm planning on going to Malibu- in California, and I know the ocean is pretty polluted here)

    Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
If I were you I would wear some socks over the wart, it might be that it will open and then the sand can cause infection even the polluted water. maybe you just stay on the beach and don't go into the water.
I personally wouldn't go to beach the next day, but that is your decision..

  23. QUESTION:
How to remove a wart at home?
    Hello,

I have a wart that I been so desperate to remove. It's not that big but it bothers me very much.

Is there any way I can remove the wart at home without having to go to the doctor? Are they any remedies and if so, how long will it take for the wart to vanish?

    • ANSWER:
Freeze it. Either of these products will do. They're available in almost any American drugstore. They are both basically painless and will work in a week or less. A stubborn wart might require a second treatment after a couple of weeks, but most don't.

  24. QUESTION:
What does a plantar wart look like when it is starting to die and fall off?
My son's plantar wart use to be flat to his foot but now it is starting to stick out a little and I was just wondering if that means it's getting worse or possibly this is what it does as it gets better. Thanks!
I've been treating it with compound w for about 4 months.

    • ANSWER:
This sounds like it is getting worse. It is not very common for them to go away on their own, you usually have to get them taken care of by a doctor. They just get bigger and bigger until they are removed. My friend had one about 15 years ago and had to get it cut out. It left a huge hole in her foot, but it eventually filled back in. She said they could have frozen it off, but it would have take three separate treatments whereas cutting it out took just the one. I asked a dermatologist about them last year and he said yes, they typically leave a big hole for a while, especially the longer you wait to get it removed, as they just keep growing. I'm not sure what the preferred removal method is currently, but you should take him to a doctor. Those suckers can really hurt.

If you have been treating it for 4 months, and it is just getting bigger, then it is time to take him in and get it removed. Dermatologists and podiatrists are usually the best doctors for plantar wart removal.

  25. QUESTION:
How do you know when to stop treatment for a plantar wart?
I have been using one of those over the counter plantar wart remover treatments where it has 40% salic acid in it. The instruction say to put on a medicated sticker and leave it for 2 days and repeat if needed. How do you know when it is gone and you can stop the treatment? Do you need to do anything other than taking the pad off?

    • ANSWER:
You don't stop it until the plantars wart is totally gone. Change the pad as directed until the wart is totally gone.

  26. QUESTION:
How can i get rid of this damn plantar wart?
I have had this wart on the underside of my pinky toe just before were the toe actually starts (i hope this makes sense D:) It been there for about 3 months and has not gone away. What are some suggestions?

    • ANSWER:
you can remove warts by surgery, freezing, laser, acid or with cream but warts can reappear again and again because warts appears when your immune system is weak! so you must build up your immune system because your body can get rid of warts by itself if your immune system will be strong! so eat more healthy food, more vitamins and more sport activities!
(No smoking, no beer/ale, no booze, no drugs, no junk food, no fast food garbage, no sugary sweet soda's. Get on a good, balanced, healthy diet including plenty of boiled or steamed vegetables. Drink P L E N T Y O F W A T E R , fruit juices & fat free milk. Snack on lots of RAW fruit & veggies. Get up one hour early every morning & take a BRISK 30 minute walk - then - do the same thing again in the evening after dinner. Make sure you eat a good, balanced breakfast daily. You get your energy for the day from your breakfast meal. Get 8 hours sleep each night. Flip your mattress over so it will level out to give you a good night's rest. Slack off too much coffee & tea.)

HPV is the virus that causes warts. And HPV virus has many strains. In your case you have HPV virus strain number 2. People can be infected with HPV and never show any symptoms. Others will develop warts. These warts can stay the same size, grow, or go away on their own. It depends on the infected person's immune system. A healthy immune system means your body may be able to suppress the virus and not show symptoms.

also you should use some herbal treatment!

in that case Wartrol is a good (probably the best) product that gets rid of warts comparatively fast and makes you feel more confident knowing that they wont reappear again! it says that it is designed for Genital Warts but
it does not matter because warts are warts and wartrol works by stimulating your immune system to fight the HPV virus that causes the warts. of course it is better if you use full course (5 months - if I remember correctly).

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Wartrol but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.wartrol.com/?aid=749165

  27. QUESTION:
How do you remove a wart by using home remodies?
I do not have any money, i am looking for a way to remove my wart by home remodies. What are some things that I can try to use on removing my wart?

    • ANSWER:
This is what you will need:

      Apple cider vinegar
      Band aids
      Cotton balls or Q-tips

At night wash wherever they are at with soap and water and dry. Get the cotton and roll a small piece about the size of your wart and dip it in the apple cider vinegar and put it directly on the wart. Cover it with a band aid to hold it in place. Leave it til the morning and wash really good in the morning. Do this every night before bed until they turn black. Usually about 3 days. It does stink but it works. I promise and it takes them off. They will turn black and just fall off. It'll leave a little hole from where the wart was under the skin. Once they're healed it'll just leave a very small un noticeable scar. My daughter had a few big ones on her hands and I did this and they were gone in a week and haven't come back!! This was 3 years ago!!

  28. QUESTION:
How can I tell if my wart is completely gone?
I have (had) a wart on my hand, near my knuckle. I used the salicylic acid band aids. My wart got smaller and smaller and finally I just kind of peeled it off. There was a lot of bleeding. Now it just looks like a scab and there's some raw skin around it (from the salicylic acid) Is it completely gone?

    • ANSWER:
no! i think it is not completely gone because warts have roots and you must destroy root! and the best root destroyer is your immune system!

so if you really want to get rid of warts forever then you should know that you can remove warts by surgery, freezing, laser, acid or with cream but warts can reappear again and again because warts appears when your immune system is weak! so you must build up your immune system because your body can get rid of warts by itself if your immune system will be strong! so eat more healthy food, more vitamins and more sport activities!

  31. QUESTION:
How to get rid of a stubborn wart on the palm of my hand?
I have a wart on the palm of my hand and i've had it there months now. I have also tried nearly everything OTC product: the freeze-off, bandaids, and gel stuff. I haven't gone to a doctor, but i want to find out if there is any way to get rid of it before it comes down to that. Thanks for answering.

I am having the same problem, but the best way is probably to go to the doctor because at this point all I think could remove the wart is some prescription wart remover.

  32. QUESTION:
Is it bad to apply triple antibiotic ointment on a blister while trying to remove the wart underneath?
So I purchased Compund W Freeze-Off to remove 3 warts i have on my fingers. I used it 2 nights ago and now the area that I froze is all blistered? Is this normal and is it okay to apply triple antibiotic ointment to the blister to help heal it although the wart is underneath? Does applying the ointment affect the removal of the wart?

    • ANSWER:
you don't need to apply antibiotic unless it is infected. Signs of an infection is are redness and inflammation.

As an aside, I have had very poor success removing warts with freezing, either the brand you mentioned, or even liquid nitrogen applied by a doctor. On the other had the chemically treated bandages have worked pretty well. I think compound W sells a bandaid-like product that dissolves the wart over several days.

      Good luck.

  33. QUESTION:
What happens when you pick off the blister from a wart that was frozen?
I got a wart on my finger frozen. It formed a blister and a week later I picked the hardened blister off, but I noticed a red dot. Did I pick the blister off too soon? Will the wart come back?

    • ANSWER:

How long does it take for a treated wart to be removed?
I got my wart treated a week ago with liquid nitrogen and I'm anticipating for it to fall off! When should I see results?

    • ANSWER:
You should not use liquid wart treatment.
The best solutions for a wart are to get it freezed off expertly by a dermetologist. You should contact your local skin doctor; it only takes about an hour or two.

  35. QUESTION:
What to do to prevent a plantar wart from coming back on my son's chin?
My 4 year old son has had a wart on his chin before and his doctor freezed it and it came out a couple days later. Now 3 months later its starting to come back. What should i do to prevent it from growing anymore?

    • ANSWER:
You want to keep going with the treatments until you can see the entire print of the skin (ex. fingerprint pattern). The white circle could be a bloodvessel that is feeding the virus.

      Here's the lowdown!
My two kids have been fighting Plantar's warts all summer, and we finally had our last visit Tuesday! YEAH!!! (My 11 year old had a total of six on her toes, and my 6 year old had one very deep one. We thought his was small until we saw how many applications it took to kill it!) The six year old's wart was deep because the pressure from walking had pushed it way into his heel.

The dermatologist put a very strong acid on them and they blistered up, the blister left, then the skin peeled off. We went back every 2 weeks for 8 weeks. At each visit, she used a blade to cut away the callous in order to get the acid closer to the core of the warts.
The dermatologist said to put compound W on them twice a day between visits, as long at they weren't in pain. (We also started using Compound W three weeks before we got in for an appointment, and had made big progress already.) It is essential that you don't let up and never forget a dose. Don't waste your money on the jar with the brush in it! Buy the tube that you squeeze some out of.

Soak his chin with a wet washcloth, and use a pumice stone in between applications to sand off the compound w and dead, calloused skin. (As often as possible.) We also used a blade, but be sure to wash your hands very well when you are done, as warts can spread to your hands.

When you apply the compound W be sure to keep in in the wart area, as the skin around it can get very raw. You will notice that once the compound W is on, you will see some little reddish/black dots. These are the blood vessels that feed the wart. In order to kill the entire thing and not have it come back, you will need to get the the very bottom of these vessels to eliminate them! People used to call these the core of the wart or the seed, but they are really just blood vessels.

On my son's last visit, he had only one huge blood vessel left. It stuck out of a hole in the wart and it wiggled in there like a loose tooth! The doctor put the acid down the hole and three days later my son fished it out with a tweezer! It looked slimy like a little white worm!

When we went back she said that that was the blood vessel and he is cured!

Good luck and remember to wash your hands diligently!

  36. QUESTION:
How can i get rid of a wart, without medicine or going to the doctors?
I've tried the store wart remover like Wartner, and Doctor Scholls, but they do not work, and i cant afford to go to the doctor right now.

    • ANSWER:
Warts are infections caused by viruses that are present everywhere, making them among the most common of all skin conditions. The culprit will be one of more than 70 types of human papillomaviruses (HPV). They are spread when the virus touches a part of the skin where the outer protective layer is broken, either by minor trauma or by moisture. This happens most commonly on the fingers, elbows, knees, and the bottoms of the feet. Warts on the bottom of the feet are called plantar warts - named for the plantar surface (sole) of the foot.

Most warts will eventually go away on their own, expelled by the body's immune system. About 25% are gone within 3-6 months and 65% disappear within 2 years. Warts will not leaves scars, though some of the more aggressive wart therapies might.

Treatments abound, varying from as gentle and simple as taping a patch of banana peel on before bed, clear nail polish, or swabbing the wart several times a day with alcohol after washing with soap and water may speed up the removal process. Or you may try OTC methods. The active ingredient in most over-the-counter remedies is salicylic acid, a natural substance found in many plants (willow bark) and most fruits. It can be applied either as a liquid or a patch With regular application, many warts will disappear within 12 weeks. These topical treatments often work best if the surface of the wart is disrupted with warm soaks and/or an emory board before application.
The new "freezing" wart removers also may be effective in treating your problem.
Gentle freezing repeated every week or two -- usually at least 4 times -- is the more effective than a single aggressive attempt to freeze. This approach is less painful and much less likely to scar.

Bottom line, it isn't going to just disappear. It will take a little while for it to go away. Viruses are hard for the immune system to handle, unlike the simpler bacterial infection that can be treated with antibiotics. Good Luck!

  37. QUESTION:
What is the quickest way to get rid of plantar wart?
We are going on vacation in a week, and I need to know a quick way to get rid of this annoying wart on my foot!!! What is the best thing to do, home remedies? I've been to the doc like 3 times, and he just keeps freezing it... What can I do??? Also if I can't get rid of it before vacation, what is the best way to keep it from hurting too bad cause i'll be walking all day!?

    • ANSWER:
I know this sounds crazy but it works. Duct tape every day. The heat from not letting the wart breathe will cause the skin to peal off and the wart to fall out. It's not fast though because it will take about I month. It's really cheap home rememdy and was given to me as advice by a top notch NYC dermatologist. You can google if you want to.

  38. QUESTION:
How easy is it to get genital warts from a wart on your hand?
I'm worried that a small wart on my finger could give my boyfriend genital warts if, for example, i'm giving him a hand job. Is this very likely?

    • ANSWER:

    • ANSWER:
it means that wart is not gone and will regrow back again!
and be very very very careful using compound W because you can damage your skin very badly and even leave a scars!!

  40. QUESTION:
What does salicylic acid do to a plantar wart?
I have a plantar wart on the bottom of my toe, and I have an appointment with the podiatrist in a few weeks, but they said to put wart remover on it and I was wondering what the salicylic acid did to it? Like if it would make my wart go away completly, and about how long it should take, if it does?

    • ANSWER:
I had a plantar wart on the bottom of my foot and could barely walk at one point. I went to a dermatologist and he said I should use salicylic acid (Dr. Scholl's or Curad), put a piece of the acid tape (I don't know exactly what to call it) and secure it with waterproof tape (you can get it at any drugstore). You should leave it on for 72 hours. Do whatever you normally do - shower with it. If it falls off, it's best to put that same strip back again, just use a new piece of waterproof tape. Each time you change the salicylic acid, use a surgical blade to GENTLY scrape off dead layers of skin ONLY from the wart. This should NOT be painful and you should not feel anything. Once you start feeling discomfort, you should stop. There should be no blood and little to no redness, because you are scraping off dead skin. I did this for about 2 weeks and the wart disappeared. Good luck!

  41. QUESTION:
Can wart remover permanently remove a freckle?
I have a freckle on my penis. I used wart remover to remove it twice, and each time it grows back, but a little lighter than before. Can wart remover permanently remove it? I've asked my dermatologist if she could remove it and she said she wouldn't do it for me. Any other ways it can be removed?

    • ANSWER:
I wouldn't rely on a wart remover. The pigment is deep down.

Wait, why wouldn't she do it? There are ways to remove it. This is a cosmetic issue.

If she wouldn't do it, you can go to see another dermatologist or plastic surgeon and request it remove.

Make sure it's a cosmetic dermatologist.

  42. QUESTION:
Is it normal for skin to peel off after using a plantar wart remover?
I had a plantar wart on my foot and after using a wart remover the skin started to peel off. I do not think that the wart is dead. Is this bad?

    • ANSWER:
Yes your skin will peel when using a wart remover. In fact many layers will often peel as plantar warts tend to "root" themselves deep into the sole of the foot.

My brother had them for awhile. We used Compound-W wart remover gel/patches for his warts for awhile and it would initally eat away the first few layers of skin but the wart would not be "dead" yet. As the layers progressed, we could see the roots of the wart. Once the wart remover gel/patches got through enough layers of skin to eat away at the roots, the warts cleared up.

It's a painful process. If you went to a doctor who froze them or used a lazer on them, they too will peel for awhile as it heals, but not as bad as doing it the way I explained above.

      Hope this helps you

  43. QUESTION:
What are the signs of a dying plantar wart?
I have plantar wart and have been treating it with salicylic acid and duct tape. It looked a little different today.
I have scheduled a surgery with my dermatologist for next week, so I want to know if the wart is dying/ regressing.
It looks kind of like parts of it are blackening.

What are the signs of a dying wart?

    • ANSWER:
I don't know the signs, but for me it appeared that the root of the wart appeared to get smaller and smaller until it was gone completely. I used salicylic acid and after having my skeel peel off about 3 or 4 times it was gone for good.

  44. QUESTION:
What's the difference between a planter wart and a common wart?
What's the difference between a planter wart and a common wart?
An what the easiest way to get rid of each in a week without going to the doctor, using duct tape or buying any thing?

    • ANSWER:
apple cider vinegar...it sorta smells but put sone on a q-tip then cut the top off the q tip off(it still needs to have apple cider vinegar on it) then put it on the wart and cover it with 2 bandaids(making a t shape) then leave it on over night (or the whole day)
this worked best for me and i tried a bunch of different things
oh do this for around 2 weeks

  45. QUESTION:
what actually works to get rid of a wart?
I have had this small wart on my toe for over two years, and it won't go away. My doctor just said "it's small, try duct tape" and I tried the airtight-aspirin thing in a home remedies book, all it did was make my skin so sensitive anything touching it would rip it off. I've tried using the Dr. Scholls wart freezing thing 4 times, no luck at all. I have run out of ideas!

    • ANSWER:
My kids have troublesome warts that won't go away also.
I just read that banana peels cure warts quickly. Cut a banana peel to fit wart and put white side on wart and tape on for 12 hours and start over with a new peel.

I have not tried it yet since the kids ate all the bananas and threw the peels before I had a chance to try.

  46. QUESTION:
How to lessen the pain of my foot plantar wart while running?
I've had this wart for like 2 months now. I'm going to the doctor to get it cut off or something Tuesday but I have a race tomorrow. It hurts alot when I step while running. How can I take the pain away? Put cotton under it? or what?

    • ANSWER:
They have those little pieces of fabric by the bandaids in the local drug store that fit right around the wart and lessens your body weight from being on it. They are only a few dollars No matter what it will hurt a little. I can't believe how painful those little things are!

  47. QUESTION:
Does it hurt to get a needle in your foot during plantar wart surgery?
My husband is getting a plantar wart removed from his foot tomorrow, and I was wondering if getting a needle in your foot hurts. I know there are ways to freeze it off and other remedies for removing plantar warts, but he is getting it cut off. Does anyone have any experience with this, or know if that area is extra sensitive, etc. please let me know before tomorrow morning if you could since it's tomorrow- I just love him a lot and I worry about him, thanks!

    • ANSWER:
i had a lot of plantar warts cut/removed a few years ago.
yes, the needle does hurt, but only for a second.
the other thing is:the next couple days it will be painful to walk on the foot with a deep hole in it it.
my dr only did 1-2 warts at a time.
i also bought some donut shaped callus/corn bandages,so i could put this right around the "hole" where the wart was cut from.
my dr not just cut the warts out,he also cauterized the wound so it won't bleed when i go home and walk around.

  48. QUESTION:
Does the skin under a wart heal and look normal again after the wart falls off?
I have a wart on my middle finger that was frozen with liquid nitrogen 3 times in one visit to the doctor. It's going to fall off soon. I'm wondering how the skin will look after it falls off and If it will eventually look normal again?

    • ANSWER:
Yes, the skin will look normal once the wart is gone. The dead material that makes it up will get shoved off by the healthy skin beneath it. It might help you to understand that a wart isn't really all that foreign to your body to begin with. It starts off with a normal skin cell that gets invaded by the wart virus, which makes it reproduce to look like a wart. It is surrounded by a lot of normal skin cells, beside it, beneath it, and all around it- just waiting to fill in the spot. It might look a bit pale to start with, but it will not be a scar.
