Aspirin Tablets For Acne

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Aspirin mask?? Does it work? How to Make it?
I have been hearing a lot about this aspirin mask that you can make with just aspirin tablets, water, and honey...How do you make it and does it really work? Any additional ingredients like olive oil or sugar?
    Answers greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!! =D

    • ANSWER:
      YESSSS.

Aspirin mask- it's like a savior for my face.
It makes my face so much smoother & my skin looks healthier and better toned.
I use it a few times a week, and it's really really great. Plus it's cheap. You might be thinking...wow, wtf, ASPIRIN and HONEY? But aspirin, when mixed with water, is basically salicylic acid, which treats acne, and honey serves as a soothing agent and....idk, but it makes your skin nice :D!

Alright, I actually watched a tutorial on how to make it online, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n4dnv3wlSs
      Be sure it's UNCOATED aspirin.

That chick has a beauty blog too, and she has great tips.

Olive oil? Sugar? Sugar would just work as an exfoliant, and the crushed aspirin is already doing that, so it'd be kinda redundant.
Olive oil...interesting. Maybe, you could try it :] It might clog your pores, but then again, maybe not.

      Good luck.
I really really REEEEEEEEEEEEEAAALLYalskjdlsad recommend this mask:]

  2. QUESTION:

    • ANSWER:
Don't you think if they could get rid of acne they would be the richest people on earth?
      Don't be fooled.

  3. QUESTION:
What is the best acne product you can buy without a prescription?
What non prescription acne product will help get rid of my acne the best and keep it away? Life for example proactive, clean and clear, etc. like either in a kit or one product thanks.

    • ANSWER:
The best acne treatment is a jug of water. I'm serious, you don't need anything fancy like Fiji water. Just a big bottle of water. Keep it next to you all day and drink 2-3 liters everyday. This helps moisturize your skin and clears out junk from your bloodstream. This will help stop breakouts in the long term.

In the short term, all you need is baking soda, aspirin and honey. Mix the baking soda with a bit of water and lightly massage your face then rinse off. Then crush up the aspirin tablets, mix with a little bit of water and massage onto your face. leave this on for 10-15 minutes and then rinse off. Finally, put some honey on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes.

The combination of the above three will clean pores, dry up breakouts, prevent future breakouts and moisturize your skin. However this is only temporary because as your learn to drink more and more water everyday, your body will start to adjust internally. You'll start having less cravings for junk food and your body will be able to deal with the inner problems that lead to acne in the first place.

This means no more breakouts, ever.

  4. QUESTION:
How long does honey take to get rid of acne scars?
I Heard that honey can get rid of acne scars! And i would just like to know approximately how long does it take to get rid of them clearly?

    • ANSWER:
It might take a few weeks for it to have a noticeable effect. Ignore the 1st person, it really does work, though the severity of the scar is a factor in how well it works.

And don't not just put honey on your face-you want to use a mixture of Honey (make sure it is organic and not processed, or "honey substitute"), lemon juice, and aspirin.

Fill a jar about the size of a jar of baby food full of honey, mixed with the juice from 1 whole lemon, and 2 crushed up aspirin tablets (make sure the tablets are uncoated). Apply to the scars twice a day, cleaning your skin beforehand, and the honey should reduce the scars if not make them fade away almost completely

Delilah - Does it matter what kind of Neosporin?

    • ANSWER:
Use some rubbing alcohol and apply a VERY small amount on your pimple. And if you’re kinda embarrassed where some of your acne is appearing from, you can disguise it by use a Q-tip or cotton ball and apply it on. Oh and try this! Mix olive oil and salt together and apply it to your face. It really works! I know "oil" but trust me, it works. Don't use products like Proactive...IT DOES NOT REALLY WORK! Oh and another way to zap pimples is toothpaste and shaving cream! Use toothpaste and apply it to your pimple and cover it up with a band-aid. Shaving cream works too, apply it on and your acne will dry up immediately....but don't forget to wash your face even though it’s gone. Dab garlic juice on your face. It works too, and tries smashing an aspirin tablet and mixes some lemon juice with it and applies to your face daily. Don't stress out and try to keep your hands and hair away from your face! I hope it helped how it helped me... Bye.

  8. QUESTION:

    • ANSWER:
Foundation is okay to use and may give you more confidence if you've got a hot date, but remember to look for oil-free one. Whatever you use to put on your skin, wash your hands or sponge before applying foundation.

  9. QUESTION:
How long does birth control take to get rid of acne?
I have had increasingly bad acne the past couple of years. I've tried almost every cream there is over the counter and prescription, none made any difference, also tried doxycyline and saw no difference. Then I got a blood test saying I had elevated levels of testosterone...which I assume is what's causing my acne. So I've now been on birth control (beyaz) for a a little over a month and a half and have still seen no improvement in my acne? When should I start to see an improvement?

    • ANSWER:
It depends on both the birth control, and what is truly the cause of your acne.
I take ortho tri cyclen, which is known for it's ability to clear acne, make a shorter period and lesson cramps. (if you could get passed the symptoms it comes with) And this specific BC could take up to two months to see improvement.
      But remember:
There are other factors to acne, not just hormone levels (I have higher levels of testosterone too)
Continue to wash your face and use topicals such as ben. 10% and Sal. 2+%
Taking things like fish oil and birth control to help clear your acne will temporarily make it worse. your skin will purge; push out all the yucky stuff, for the first while, then keep it clear thereafter.

If you want a more natural approach here are my suggestions (from experience of course)
Raw honey and crushed aspirin (calms and reduces swelling, redness and the infected parts of pimples aka pustules) - about 2-4 tablets and mix with honey to desired texture (I like to use 6-8 though but I make it for 2 people) use it as a mask for about 30 minutes or overnight (play with it a little to see what works for your skin best)
Drink the recommended amount of water daily - this not only helps your organs but helps regulate the natural functions of your body, which usually acne is a sign that something is not working like it's supposed to.
A mask of egg whites (no yolk) baking soda and lemon juice

If you have dry skin then don't do either of those masks too often because it does have the tendency to dry your skin.

Also; I have trouble finding over the counter creams too. The only one that worked for me was adapalene - Differin, I'm thinking about using it again.

      Sorry about the long response

  10. QUESTION:
How to get rid of red marks left from acne?
My acne is finally clearing up, but has left behind red dots and patches where it was. Some marks I have had for years. Can anyone recommend any products or tips on how to remove them? Non-surgical please, they aren't that severe. Thanks for any help!

    • ANSWER:
Here are some home remedies for pimple redness :

      1. Avoid the urge to pick, pop or squeeze a pimple. This could cause the spread of bacteria and you could end up with a permanent scar.

      2. Apply ice to the pimple redness area every half hour. You should hold the ice on the affected area for about 2 minutes. The redness should begin to disappear.

      3. Apply a mixture of crushed aspirin and water to the affected pimple area. You can also use aspirin to make a facial mask. Crush several tablets and mix with water and other ingredients like honey. Spread all over your face.

      4. Freshly extracted cucumber or tomato that can tightens up the pores and cuts down the redness drastically.

      5. Pressing and holding a wet tea bag or a cotton ball with a dab of lemon juice against the blemish for five minutes can reduce swelling and redness of pimple.

  11. QUESTION:
what is the best way to get rid of acne?
I have had an extremely annoying case of terrible acne and black heads. I have tried a lot of products and yet I have barley next to none success. Please help with some recommendation's or home remedies. Anything works for me!! : )

    • ANSWER:
This is my bedtime routine, which seems to work for me:

I wash my face with Desert Essence face wash. I wet with warm water to open the pores, and rinse off with cool water to close them up (not too hot/cold as that can damage skin).

I dap a homemade skin toner on my problem areas with a cosmetic pad. Recipe: 3-5 crushed aspirin tablets, 1/8 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup filtered or mineral water.

I moisturize after with a very light layer of jojoba oil. Moisturizing creams are very pore-clogging.

***The best thing for blackheads is sweating (i.e. from exercise, from a sauna, etc.), but make sure to wash your face after.

  12. QUESTION:
How do I get rid of Face acne in about a week?
I need help getting rid of my acne :(
School starts September 7th and I want to get rid of atleast 90% of my pimples.
My acne is pretty bad and it has been since the start of June.

No sites please, you will be blocked and flagged.

    • ANSWER:
Drink plenty of water. Staying well hydrated can help your condition improve, because the "waste management" control system in your body requires a lot of water to do its job. Without enough water, the body has difficulty removing some waste products efficiently.

Look for face washes which contain the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide. This is the key ingredient in some of the best face washes. use a 5-10% benzoyl peroxide of mild to moderate acne and 10% for severe.

Try smashing one tablet of aspirin in a small bowl, then adding lemon juice to the mixture. Aspirin is acete salicylic acid, chemically related to salicylic acid. Apply to the affected areas overnight. It boosts the healing process while reducing redness.

Try putting toothpaste (paste, NOT gel) on your face, cover it with a bandage, and keep it on all night. When you wash it off in the morning your acne will look better. The astringent and surfactant nature of the toothpaste will help diminish the appearance of pimples. But the toothpaste has been known to burn sensitive skin of the face, so be careful. If your face does burn, stop acne treatments and work on healing your burn.

Try using Bentonite Clay, a natural mineral powder which has been known to absorb impurities and help neutralise the skin's oiliness, and can be found online. Mix 2 tablespoons with a dash of cold water and smooth over the face as a thick paste. Once dried gently wipe off with a flannel or sponge.

  13. QUESTION:
what is the best acne treatment product?
I have been trying to find a good acne/blemish product for oily skin that actually works. Not really looking for anything that requires you to order on an auto shipment; would prefer something I could try and buy more if it actually works for me.

Please only answer if you have tried it and have had good results and if so where you can typically get it?

    • ANSWER:
Ok so before i tell you this just keep in mind that what works for my skin may not work for your skin

I have been using LUSH's Dark angels facial cleanser (its black and made of charcoal which is great for getting rid of excess oils on your face) i used it about 1 year ago, and my skin instantly cleared up...but this goes bad after 3 month since it is so fresh...and i had no time to go back to LUSH so i started using different things such as the philosophy purity is simple and loreal 360 go clean..none of these things worked for me..it actually kind of made my acne worse

So my sister goes to school in the city where lush is located, so i asked her to pick me up a few things on her way back..i totally forgot to ask her to get dark angels because i was so focused on getting two other things, which was the tea tree oil toner, and grease lightning acne spot treatment

i heard soo many things about these products and how it was supposed to remove acne since they both had tea tree oil in it...i used the grease lightning and it did nothing for my face, so i gave it to my friend and it cleared up her skin, but then again she has dry skin and i have oily..it kinda gace my face the feeling that it was dirty right after i applied it after i washed my face

the tea tree water didnt improve my skin at all, but it did make my face feel fresh after i washed it so i continued to use it to get off any excess dirt..

so 2 days ago i went to the city and picked up the dark angels facial cleanser and i used it...it has only been 2 days, and yet my skin is almost cleared up ( i only break out on the forehead).....

i also made a mask of this by taking dark angels facial cleanser and mixing it with aspirin (uncoated) and honey

IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY ON DARK ANGELS (it can be pretty pricey but it will last u a long time)

      alternative (Charcoal face mask)

      u will need
      - charcoal tablets
      -aloe vera gel
      - honey
      - sugar
      -vitamin e oil
      - tea tree oil

add about 2 tablets to a dish
then squeeze in a squirt of aloe vera gel and a squirt of honey
      add a teaspoon of sugar
and half a teaspoon of vitamin e oil
and around 3 drops of tea tree oil

      Mix well

and apply to face and wait for it to dry..i would leave it on for about 20 min to get the full effect
then, wash your face and mouisterize as usual

LUSH has many things that will help rid acne...such as their other cleansers like aquamarina, fresh farmacy, and coalface...i tried all these but dark angels was the best

Also u can try their cupcake mask..its basically a chocolate mask great for scarring on your face.

u can make it yourself if u want by mixing cocoa powder, honey, plain yogurt in a bowl =)
      Hope i helped

Ummm those are the recipes that i used too so i couldn't recommend anything else but Have u heard of Aspirin Spot treatment?

aspirin has an salicylic acid that treats acne.

Get one tablet of aspirin(not the coated one) crushed it and put 2 drops of water and dab it to acne. Leave it for about 15-20 minutes and wash it off. You'll see that the acne is less inflamed.

THIS WORKS! but only do it one or twice a week or your skin will get used to it and it wouldn't work as good like the first time.

I have tried all acne products and they seem not to work. i heard putting tooth paste on them and sleep over night then wash it off and they will be gone- gut i dont believe it.... PLEASE HELP!

    • ANSWER:
Toothpaste is indeed an effective treatment but it must be the paste kind and not a gel. Also putting egg yolk on your face and allowing it to dry and then washing it off each night can also help with acne. Aspirin is another very effective treatment. You crush an aspirin tablet and mix just enough water with it to form a paste and place it on a pimple. Leave it on overnight and the pimple should be gone in the morning.
Really give these a try and see which one works the best for you. They really have been shown to work!

It works too, and tries smashing an aspirin tablet and mixes some lemon juice with it and applies to your face daily. Don't stress out and try to keep your hands and hair away from your face! I hope it helped how it helped me!

  21. QUESTION:
How long does girl teenage acne usually last?
Im 13 and i think i got acne when i was 11 and a half or 12 but my aunt said it usually goes away in 2 years so is that true? Alot of my friends that had clear skin are starting to get pimples but mine had gotten better but there is still some so if it is just because of puberty how long does it usually last?

    • ANSWER:
It depends on your type of skin and if you take care of it. I know some things that can prevent and get it to go mostly away if you or any of them want to know. :o

I'll list some things that I have tried and work..

      - Honey mask. Just put about one tsp. or enough to cover the part of your face that has ance. I put it over all of my face. It's supposed to tighten your face, also. My skin looked better the next day.

      - Zeno Heat Treat : Blemish Prevention Treatment. It works really well, and can make your blemish more unnoticable. It takes away the redness. You can get it at any store like CVS or Walgreens, just a pharmacy.. It destroys 99.9% of acne bacteria in one hour. It has 1% salicylic acid acne medication.

      - Naturally remove blackheads. 2 cups of water, 5-8 drops of lavender oil, handful of basil, and pop them into a pan on the stove. Turn the stovetop to medium and let the mixture boil for about 5-6 mins. Once the mixture has boiled, pour the mixture into a bowl. Place your face over the bowl letting the steam hit and absorb into your face for about 10 mins. Take your baking soda, and a little bit of water, and make it into a paste. Massage thoroughly into skin. Wash baking soda off.

      - Cheapest acne spot treatment. One un-coated aspirin tablet and 4 drops of water. Mash up using your finger and apply to problem spots. Wait a few minutes and rinse off. Works wonders on reducing redness and swelling and speeding the recovery of painful zits and pimples. Can also be used on entire face as a mask to reduce pore size and prevent acne.

Hope this helps! I use Neutrogena products.
Also, you don't need to keep your hands on your face.
Plus, it's summer so you don't really need to wear make-up. The make-up and sweat is bad, but if you do use make-up, make sure it has no talc. Or once your skin is cleared up, you could just wear water proof eyeliner or mascara and no foundation or powder, so your pours won't get clogged.
Make sure you wash your face everynight.

  22. QUESTION:
Any brilliant ideas for covering sudden acne?
I don't break out often but suddenly have some acne, sort of red swollen and painful! Any ideas on how to cover this since I have to go someplace today and see many people. Of course that is the only time a break out!

    • ANSWER:
If you dissolve a couple tablets of aspirin in warm water, and then use a cotton ball to spread it all over your face, & let it sit there for a few minutes it'll reduce the swelling. It won't hide it by any means but it helps!

  23. QUESTION:
Is there anything I can use to help my acne after giving birth?
When I became pregnant I began to breakout with acne that I never had before. I wanted to know is there anything I can use now that can get rid of it and get my skin back to normal now that I have had the baby?

    • ANSWER:
As long as you're not breastfeeding, you can use anything. Some acne medications (even topical ones that you just spread on the skin) have crazy chemicals in them, so I'd avoid them while breastfeeding. But if you're formula feeding, try anything. Proactiv works, or if you want to go the natural route, try tea-tree oil (dab it on with a q-tip). Another thing to try (again, not if you're breastfeeding) is aspirin. Get some cheap dollar store aspirin tablets, dissolve 5 of them in hot water to make a grainy scrub, and spread this all over your face. Rinse it off and wash as usual. Don't do this if you know you're allergic to aspirin, but if you're not, it can work wonders.

Also, it takes at least 3 full months after having your baby for your hormones to get back to their pre-pregnancy levels. Rest assured that you'll get your normal skin back soon, no matter what! :)

  24. QUESTION:
what are the best ways to prevent acne?
I have always had acne problems. They weren't really bad breakouts or anything but their is always at least some on my face that just always hurt my self asteam. I have tried everything from Pro- active to toothpaste to just keeping the face clean or using a certain soap or my diet or even washing my hair every day thinking that it was the oil from my hair causing the acne until I realized my hair wasn't that oily to begin with. So I guess my question is what are the best things that work for you?

    • ANSWER:
Use some rubbing alcohol and apply a VERY small amount on your pimple. And if you’re kinda embarrassed where some of your acne is appearing from, you can disguise it by use a Q-tip or cotton ball and apply it on. Oh and try this! 25. QUESTION:
Does Kanebo Sensai step 1 and step 2 face wash work well for acne?
I have mild to moderate acne, and I want to know how this has worked for others.

  26. QUESTION:
Quick way to get rid of acne by next saturday?
I'm going to a concert saturday, and I can feel this big pimple coming up. I really want to pop it, but so far I'm resisting, haha. I've been using the oxy maximum acne-fighting pads for a while, but they don't seem to be helping that much. Most of the creams I tried just dry out my skin and don't really help on a long-term basis. Ideas?

    • ANSWER:
      PIMPLES
Pimples is a unique skin disorder.Pimples are lesions that occur when the skin’s pores are obstructed or infected. They can form for a variety of reasons. However, the mechanism involved in causing some pores to collapse and block drainage of natural oils is not really understood. Pimples may also crop up for genetic reasons. It is not clear how it can be inherited from one’s parents, but studies do indicate a high occurrence of pimples in children whose parents had it,too.
The pimples associated with adolescence almost certainly occur because of hormonal changes that take place during puberty. Both males and females get an overdose of the male hormone testosterone during this period, causing excessive generation of sebaceous fluids that invariably cause pimples.

GIVEN BELOW ARE A FEW SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES TO FIGHT PIMPLES.

1.The most basic form of pimple prevention is hygiene and preventive skin care. Regular washing of the affected areas with mild soap is a must. The soap need not necessarily contain any chemicals designed to prevent pimples .However, face washing should not be overdone or the skin will become dehydrated .

2.Care should be taken on makeup, moisturizers and other skin care products. If these products are oil based,it would just make the problem worse. Use water based products instead.

3.Generally we rub, press or squeeze our pimples.Don’t when we do this,we risk spreading the bacteria to other areas.

4.Lemon juice diluted in water can be applied externally because of its antiseptic
      quality.

5.Tea Tree oil can also be applied directly to infected pores.

6.Vitamin A tablets are also a natural and effective cure. Vitamin A promotes healthy skin.

7.Before bathing, apply a mixture of fresh tomato pulp, honey and rose-water to your face and keep for twenty minutes before washing off.

8.Juice of raw papaya is the best treatment for pimples.Apply fresh juice of raw papaya on pimples and get a good result.

9.Directly rub potato slices all over the face, helps to get rid of blemishes and
      pimple scar.

10.Drink plenty of water and vegetable or fruit juices.

11.Use cucumber or other fruit and vegetable packs to cure pimple scars.

12.Maintain a diet that is rich in cottage cheese, salads, fresh juices, fish and
yogurt. These help to cleanse your system and ward off pimples.

13.Another overnight home remedy for pimples is to put a dab of toothpaste on it to help dry it out. Calamine lotion also will have the same drying effect.

14.Pound orange peel with water and apply to affected areas.

15.Another useful remedy for pimples is zinc. Which can be taken in a dose of 50 mg daily for a month and then reduce the dose.

16.You can clean your skin with apple cider vinegar as an overnight home pimple remedy.

17.Aspirin contains Beta hydroxy acid which is a powerful defoliant ,so you can crush 1to 2 Aspirin tablets mix with a little water and apply on pimples for 15 minutes and wash.

Finally, certain medications may temporarily alter the hormonal changes prevalent during adolescence and cause pimple outbreaks. If this is the case, a simple adjustment in medication may be all that is required.

    • ANSWER:
Try using the Aspirin Mask on your chest ...it works great on your face so I am sure it would help you any where you have acne .....

I just use 4 or 5 Bayer Aspirins when I make mine and use just a little bit of water to dissolve them.

"The aspirin mask is a homemade BHA mask available to each and everyone of us, totally inexpensive and highly efficient, made of salicylic acid or tablets of aspirin. BHA is known to help tremendously with cleaning pores from deep inside and therefore contribute to keeping our skin blemish-free. BHAs are efficient on existing blemishes as well, by helping them heal faster and keeping pores clean afterwards."

This mask is good for all skin types, especially normal to oily and combination skin, acne-prone and clogged skin.

"Basic preparation: 1/4 tsp. salicylic acid (ask for it at pharmacy, if you cannot find it, then crush 3-5 tablets of plain aspirin instead), distilled water. Mix the powder with the water until it becomes of a creamy consistence, apply on clean dry skin (focus on T-zone and sides of the nose). Keep it on until completely dry. Take a small cotton pad, wet it lightly and begin scrubbing the areas covered with the mask, making small circles. Finally, rinse with plenty of water. It would be excellent to apply a calming mask or a hydrating mask first, followed by your regular moisturizer. Skin will be left completely smooth and even."

If nothing is working for you, drink four tablespoons of apple cider vinegar diluted with water daily. It works very well for some people and is worth a try. Another good solution is aloe Vera gel fresh from the plant, taken orally.

How do I get rid of acne scars?
I have some I have recently been clearing up. And I still have some acne , but hopefully that will go away too. Any advice about acne scars though?

    • ANSWER:
Foundation is okay to use and may give you more confidence if you've got a hot date, but remember to look for oil-free one. Whatever you use to put on your skin, wash your hands or sponge before applying foundation.

  31. QUESTION:
How do I get rid of acne marks on my face?
I just got rid of all my acne on my face, but i have acne marks left.
I would like to lighten my skin ( on my face ) , and get rid of acne marks, please help if you know ANYTHING.

    Thank you

    • ANSWER:
I had tons of pimples when I was in my early teens, and the way I was able to remove it was by putting on an aspirin mask. Try it, but make sure that you are not allergic to aspirin.

      1. Wash your face. Make sure it's clean but leave your skin damp.
      2. Get 1-2 tablets of aspirin. Put it on your palm and add a little bit of water on them until they dissolve (just a few drops until they turn into a paste).
      3. Spread it on your face (except on the eye area), and add extra aspirin to the acne marks you have.
      4. Leave it for 10-15 mins. Don't leave it too long though.
      5. Afterwards, wet your face a little and massage your face *gently* to exfoliate. Be very careful and don't scrub near your eye area.
      6. Wash up clean. Others put toners after they wash, but I don't because I get oily skin from toners. It's up to you.

      >>Do this probably once/twice a week. If you do it every night, your skin will get dry. This is what I do to my skin, and my acne marks are gone. Even my mom noticed it! ^_^

ALSO: Another way is to use lemon juice. I think you could add a few drops to a cotton, and apply it to your face. Leave it for a bit, then wash off.

Try and research on these things a bit more. Especially on the aspirin mask. They have tons of tips and testimonials about this method. And be patient! It might take a few weeks for you to get the result, but it's worth it.

  32. QUESTION:
How do you get rid of pimples besides just washing your face?
Does anybody have any at-home remedies for treating acne? If you could leave an answer, that would be great(: thank you(:

    • ANSWER:
Put drops of water on a tablet of aspirin until it dissolves into a paste and then apply to the pimple(s) overnight.

  33. QUESTION:
What is the best way to maintain CLEAR and SMOOTH facial skin?
I’m male, not a teenager and I'm black (in case age and ethnicity matter). I’m not talking about typical acne breakouts that teenagers often get. What happens is I might get three or zits on my face, which drives me nuts. I'm always just almost there, but I can never quite kill of the few heads. I’m open minded to using womens products. I use some toner, a smoothing gel and moisturizer/facial wash (all mens lines). Once a week I'll use a facial masque (womens product) for 15 minutes. Any vitamins, diet or lifestyle changes necessary to maintain smooth clear skin? Should I keep the masque on for 2-3 hours instead of 15 minutes?

    • ANSWER:
Do not leave a facial mask on for longer than the recommended time. It won't do any good, it'll just be harder to rinse off and you might just wind up irritating your skin.

Desert Essence makes a blemish stick that works wonders overnight. (Roll on applicator. Available at Trader Joe's & Whole Foods)

Salicylic treatments work well too. (ex. Neutrogena Rapid Clear) or you can try these home remedies:

Crush up 6 plain, uncoated aspirin tablets and mix it w/ a little water to make mask.

Mix 6 aspirin tablets with a little aloe or 6 uncoated tablets, witch hazel, tee trea oil, and aloe to make a thin paste for a mask.

      For toner:
8 ounce bottle of distilled water add four uncoated aspirin
      or
mix of 1/2 water, 1/2 witch hazel, 15 aspirin, and 2 drops of tea tree essential oil and 2 drops of rosemary essential oil

Avoid benzoyl peroxide products, they can make your skin ashy. I have medium to tan skin and my aesthetician pointed this out to me.

  34. QUESTION:
how can i get rid of acne and scabbed acne?
I have some acne some near my mouth 1 just on like the tip of my nose which is extremely annoying and some on my cheeks how could i get rid of acne it really bothers me. I know this sounds weird from a guy but kind of an eye sore. if you know what i mean....

I know i asked this before like 2 mins ago but i spelled acne wrong so bear with me.

    • ANSWER:
      - hey Ryan !
      - I have a book here called 1,801 Home Remedies
      - Trustworthy treatments for everyday health problems.
      - I'll write everything down for U, so bare with me okay.
      - Acne:
      - If scientist can decipher the human genome, U'd think they could find a way 2 eradicate acne.
      - No suck luck.
      - It's up 2 U 2 deal with the outbreaks that can damage U're pride of appearance long after teenage angst past.
      - When a pimple rears it's ugly black, white, or red head, over-the-counter products can help.
      - But so can simple remedies from Mother Nature's medicine chest.
      What's wrong ?
      - U're skin is producing 2 much sebum (the thick oily substance that acts as a natural lubricant) & the excess is blocking U're pores.
      - There R 2 kinds of acne.
      - The most common form "acne vulgaris" shows up on U're face, chest, shoulders or back as blackheads, whiteheads or red blemishes.
      - "Cystic acne" appears as painful cysts or firm painless limps.
      - Fluctuating hormones caused by puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, perimenopause or birth-control pills often increase the production of sebum, which can trigger an outbreak of either type.
      - Other culprits include emotional stress, clothing that rubs against the skin & some drugs (such as steroids).
      - Genetics may also play a role.
      - Zap Zits Now:
      - The first avenue of assault is an over-the-counter cream or gel formulated with "benzoyl peroxide".
      - It works by mildly irritating the skin, which encourage dying skin cells 2 flake off.
      - This helps reopen clogged pores.
      - Benzoyl peroxide also kills the bacteria that infect clogged pores.
      - Alpha-hydroxy acid (AHAs), such as glycolic acid, slough off the outermost layer of skin, which helps keep pores clean & unclogged.
      - Opt for a cream, lotion or gel that contains 8% glycolic acid.
      - At the first hint of a pimple, wrap an ice cube in a piece of plastic wrap & hold it 2 the area at least twice a day, every hour if U can, but no for no longer than 5 minutes each time.
      - The cold will reduce the redness & ease the inflammation.
      - Pop an aspirin or 2 :
      - Taking 1 or two 325 milligram tablets 4 times a day can help calm an acne outbreak by reducing inflammation. (check with U're doctor before taking aspirin regularly.)
      - Try Alternative Acne Treatments:
      - 3 times a day, dab a drop of tea-tree oil on blemishes 2 discourage infection & speed healing.
      - Research has found that 5% tea-tree oil is as effective against acne as a 5% benzoyl peroxide solution.
      - Dab vinegar or lemon juice on pimples.
      - All vinegars contains acids that can help flush out pores & so does lemon juice.
      - An old folk remedy for healing pimples is 2 use a mixture of spice & honey on them.
      - Combine 1 teaspoon powdered nutmeg & 1 teaspoon honey & apply it 2 the pimple.
      - Leave on for 20 minutes, then wash off.
      - There's no proof that this hyelps, but honey does have antiseptic properties.
      - Apply aloe vera:
      - 1 study found that 90% of skin sores were completely healed with aleo vera within 5 days.
      - Think zinc:
      - People with acne tend 2 have lower than normal zinc levels.
      - Zinc supplements produce visible improvement in about a third of people who take them.
      - U'll need high doses though (between 200 & 600 milligrams daily), so take it only under U're doctor's supervision.
      - The Power Of Prevention:
      - If U keep skin free of dirt & axcess oil (the thinking goes) perhaps U're pores will never get clogged.
      - But over-cleansing can cause acne by making U're sebaceous glads produce more oil.
      - Forgo granulated cleansers & avoid washcloths, cuz they can be abrasive & can accumulate bacteria if U reuse them.
      - Instead, use a disposable cleansing cloth or cotton pads.
      - Make a skin-cleansing solution 2 help clear up blackheads.
      - Add 1 teaspoon of Epsom salt & 3 drops of iodine 2 one-half cup of water & bring 2 a boil & then let cool.
      - Dip in a clean cotton pad & use it 2 clean the pores.
      - Men; rince U're razor in alcohol after U use it so any bacteria it harbors won't transfer itself 2 u're face.
      - 2 Squeeze or Not 2 Squeeze:
      - If U absolutely, positively must squeeze U're blemishes, here's the dermatologist-approved method (& this is only valid for whiteheads)
      - Clean the area well.
      - light a match & hold the tip of a needle in the flame for 3 seconds.
      - Then gently nick the surface of the pimple.
      - Use a cotton swab 2 drain it, then clean it with hydrogen peroxide, if U wish.
      - But don't squeeze or pick, cuz U'll make it worse.
      - 2 "squeeze" a blackhead, use a blackhead extractor, available in drugstores.
      - Soften the blemish with a hot-water compress for 10 minutes before U use it, & wash U're hands beforehand 2 reduce the chances of infection.
      - Well.....
      - ther U R dude.
      - That's all she wrote, lol.
PS: I find that if I wash my face with a goat's milk soap when I first jump in the shower, it will remove all the dirt, oil & dead skin.
      - then after I'm done my shower & just before I get out, I wash my face with some "St. Ives" clear pore cleanser.
      - then I dry off & use a "neutrogena deep clean invigorating dual action toner"
      - U'll be amaze on just how clear U're face will become.
      - good luck & chow bro !

  36. QUESTION:
Is it good to rub apple skin on acne ?
I have acne on my cheecks, chin, and forehead. I want to know if there's a natural way to cleanse it, and if rubbing apple skin on the acne parts will cleanse them ?

Another way to zap pimples is shaving cream. Apply it to your pimple and it will dry it up. It disappears by morning, but washes your face after waking up. If nothing is working for you, drink four tablespoons of apple cider vinegar diluted with water daily. It works very well for some people and is worth a try. Another good solution is aloe Vera gel fresh from the plant, taken orally.

  40. QUESTION:
the best product for teens to remove acne fast?
the title says all. please tell me if you are a teen or close to one, what is the best product you use/have used to remove acne on the face fast. im trying to get clear skin in 2 weeks. any products available at a drug store?

    • ANSWER:
I am not a teen but I do have a teenager and he doesn't have alot of acne but when some flares up I get him to use the Aspirin Mask, and at first he did NOT want to do this but once he seen it worked and worked fast he doesn't mind to do it. He only applies it where he needs it not all over like women do. I usually take 4 or 5 aspirins and a little bit of water, enough to make a paste .....here is how to do it in more detail....

What are your recipes for the Aspirin Mask for acne?
    Did they work? How well?
My acne is moderate to severe depending on how stressed I am. Any other suggestions to get rid of it? Thanks :)

    • ANSWER:
Basically all you do is mash up like 4 or 5 tablets with the dull end of a knife or something. Then you add some water so it's pasty but not watery. Leave it on your face for at least ten minutes, then when you wash it off gently scrub your face because it's really good for exfoliating. I have just used it for exfoliating and it does help, and it made my skin really smooth. good luck.

  47. QUESTION:
Are there any treatments for cystic acne?
My girlfriend has cystic acne. She was on Actutane for 3 sessions but then it got taken off of the market. She does not have any signs or symptoms right now, but she is afraid it will come back. If it does come back are there any treatments/cures for it?

    • ANSWER:
      Hi,

The particular cause of cystic forms of acne might not be known but there are a number of reasons why your girfriend could be suffering from it. Some of these include hereditary reasons, hormonal imbalances, some forms of medication, stress and even the diet your body feeds on. Other causes may include using certain oily cosmetics, using rough cleansing agents that are not easy on the skin, dust and even pollution. In most cases, a person with a skin that has overactive sebaceous glands and plenty of dead skin cells will suffer from cystic acne. Adults suffering from cystic acne might in most cases have gotten it either through hormonal imbalances or hereditary ways. Whatever the cause of your cystic forms of acne, a cystic acne home remedy is guaranteed to offer redemption.

In an attempt to get rid of cystic acne, obviously many alternatives will be tried and since the condition might keep worsening, one might start to feel dejected and hopeless. That simple truth is that cystic acne home remedy is a fast, safe and sure way to get rid of cystic forms of acne. If not because it is cheap and easily accessible, the home remedy is advantageous because it is actually proven to work and will offer great relief as well as relaxation to a person suffering from cystic acne. In a nutshell, they are simple procedures one will perform within the safe confines of their home without having to spend a lot of time and resources looking for a cure elsewhere.

One way to get rid of cystic forms of acne is by using baking soda. Mix half a teaspoon of baking soda with water and make a paste then apply it to the affected area. After about 15 minutes, rinse it off with cool water. You will have results sooner than you think. Another option could be the use of potatoes. These potatoes have in them alkaline which break down the oils in the skin pores. Simply slice a raw potato to half and then rub the juice on the affected part then leave it on for half an hour and rinse off with warm water. Another cystic acne home remedy that will provide results is crushing 2 to 3 aspirin tablets and mixing a tablespoon of honey to make a paste. Apply on the affected area and after 20 minutes, rinse with lukewarm water.

      Hope this helps.

using things around the house like food, natural stuff, ect.
Things i like using are - Oatmeal, get some in your palm, run water over it and apply it to your face. rubbing it in. The beauty benefits are great. It makes your skin soft and nice.

Honey and aspirin - crush a tablet or two of aspirin and add some honey. Mix it together and then apply it to your face. It will moisturize and tighten the look of your skin. It is mostly known to help acne though!

For big pores or black heads use this - Mix jello it can be unflavored or any flavor, it doesn't matter. The colors won't stain your face. and mix with a table spoon of milk with a tablespoon of the jello. Heat it up in the microwave for around 30 second. and apply it to where you have big pores, or black heads. It will tighten and you can peel it off.
after you've done one of these just use an oil-free moisturizer.
