Tretinoin Cream Fordyce Spots

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Over the counter medicine to treat Fordyce Spots?
IS there an over the counter medicine that can treat fordyce spots on the underside of my penis?

    • ANSWER:
If you are sure they are Fordyce Spots, there is no OTC medicine or other product to treat them.

      Treatments for these spots include:
      a) carbon dioxide laser treatment - removes the top-most layers of the skin.
      b) electrodesiccation - uses an electric current to dry and destroy tissue.
      c) laser vaporization - vaporizes the solid cell components and by process
turns them into steam/smoke, allowing them to evaporate.
      d) liquid nitrogen freezing - freezes the cells, destroying them.
      e) diathermy - uses heat to destroy cells.
      f) chemical peels - a temporary fix so the spots will return.
      g) tretinoin cream - a prescription cream that peels off the top layers of skin.
Side effects of this medicine would be very painful to the penis, causing
irritation, peeling, burning, stinging, erythema. NOT advised!

**A side effect of some of the treatments is permanent scars. Also, some of the treatments can only diminish the appearance of the spots instead of forcing them to completely disappear.

**Doctors advise AGAINST USE OF ANY of these treatments for Fordyce Spots because they are only a cosmetic/appearance concern. They are not bacterial, viral, sexually transmitted, or harmful. A person is born with the condition and it only becomes prevalent sometime after puberty.

You may be surprised to know that medical studies show up to 85% to 90% of men have this condition. They are a common, natural occurrence and are harmless.

I hope this has helped. Good luck on any decision you make.

  2. QUESTION:
If I get circumsized will it take away my Fordyce Spots?
I don't want to get circumsized anymore, but if it'll take away my Fordyce Spots then I will...I guess you can say I'm self-conscious about having them, which makes me nervous to do anything sexual.

    • ANSWER:
Treatment recommendations for the appearance of the yellow papules
There is no treatment needed, but you can apply Tretinoin gel or cream daily to the affected areas. It will reverse the effects over time and prevent it from getting worse. Tretinoin is works best when it is used in combination with alpha hydroxyacid agents. It is normally used to treat acne.
If the condition persists you can use Accutane. It will reappear when you stop the treatment unless you keep on using Tretinoin gel or cream afterwards. Accutane has several side-effects such as chapped lips, joint and muscle pains, temporary hair thinning, dry skin, itching, intestinal problems, nosebleed, irritation of the eyes, rash, urinary problems, poor night vision, depression, and headaches. Pregnant woman should avoid it. It may also cause damage to the liver. Consult your doctor before you use it.
TCA chemical peels are sometimes prescribed, but Fordyce’s Condition return as soon as treatment is stopped.
You can remove it with laser vaporization.
It is sometimes removed with diathermy or liquid nitrogen freezing.
Don’t pick or scratch the spots.
Since Fordyce’s Condition is harmless and appears in most adults, there is no reason to panic. You only need to get treatment for the lesions when they are ugly and cause real embarrassment. It should not interfere with lovemaking because they are painless. Young boys sometimes panic and think they have done something wrong, but a visit to the doctor sets them at ease. It seems that once we know the exact cause for these strange yellow spots, treatment will be in order. It is sometimes confused with other skin diseases. Since the cause is unknown, we cannot recommend a specific diet or vitamin supplements. It is however always good to keep oral hygiene and to eat a balanced diet that includes folic acid, Vitamins C, A, D, E, K and B complex. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that helps to build the immune system. Garlic helps to kill any bacteria in the bloodstream and the mouth, and folic acid is needed for normal metabolism. Proper skin care around the genital areas is important but is not related to the appearance of the spots. Treatment is only needed in severe cases, but the condition normally clears up on its own.

  3. QUESTION:
What is the treatment of Fordyce spot?
I suffer from white spot(small, painless) on upper lip. What is treatment of this? Is this any gel available in market or any natural treatment?

    • ANSWER:
Yes there are. Tretinoin Cream or Gel , see links for details.

  4. QUESTION:
how common are fordyce spots located in genital areas in males?
i have got them and it's a real concern to me what will my gf think and is there any treatment.

    • ANSWER:
As far as telling your girlfriend, just arm yourself with some literature to show them, tell them you have been officially diagnosed (right?) and you don't want her to think you have any kind of STD. (Besides, sexually responsible folks get STD and Herpes tests BEFORE they become intimate.) Ask for a copy of your results--and show her! Seals the deal!

Also, there are some folks who had these SAME spots on their lips--and they found a cure through a cheap over the counter product...and you won't believe what it was! Blistex Lip Medex! I'm enclosing a link. It shouldn't hurt to put on the "privates" and you might want to try a small test area and see if it works for you. Plain old vinegar is another one they used on Fordyce.

Wikepedia had some ideas that might help, too. Have you discussed any of these with your doctor?
"Although treatment is not necessary, those with the condition can choose to apply tretinoin gel or cream to the affected areas each day. This can reverse the effects of the condition over time and prevent it from getting any worse. To get the best results from Tretinoin one should use it along with alpha hydroxy acid agents which are normally used to treat acne. Jojoba oil, Tocopherol and Argania extract have also been linked to the successful treatment of Fordyce's spots[citation needed]."

      Hope these tips help.

  5. QUESTION:
How to get rid of Fordyce Spots?
I am a girl and have them on my labia.
I am not sexually active or anything but they look gross and I really want to get rid of them.
Theyy are near my clit too!

    • ANSWER:
Tretinoin gel or cream may be an effective treatment if you apply it once daily to the affected area. You can use it along with alpha hydroxy acid agents, which exfoliate your skin.
Other substances that have shown treatment success with Fordyce's are jojoba oil, vitamin E oil, and Argania extract.

      Good luck!

  6. QUESTION:
What are the effects of Fordyce Spots?
I know that they cause multiple small bumps on the shaft but do they also cause red blisters that scab? What are ALL the effects?

    • ANSWER:
Fordyce's spots[1] are small, painless, raised, pale, red or white spots or bumps 1 to 3 mm in diameter that may appear on the shaft of the penis or on the labia, as well as the inner surface (retromolar mucosa) and vermilion border of the lips of the face. They are common in men and women of all ages. They are named after an American dermatologist, John Addison Fordyce.[2] On the head of the penis, they are called Tyson's glands,[3] not to be confused with Hirsuties papillaris genitalis.[4]

The spots are a form of ectopic sebaceous gland: normally, sebaceous glands are only found in association with a hair follicle. They are not known to be associated with any disease or illness and are of cosmetic concern only. They aren't infectious and are a natural occurrence on the body. Men sometimes consult with a dermatologist because they are worried they may have a sexually transmitted disease (especially genital warts) or some form of cancer, but this is not the case.[5] They may equally be worried about the appearance of their penis and what their sexual partner might think of it.[6]
Although treatment is not necessary, those with the condition can choose to apply tretinoin gel or cream to the affected areas each day. This can reverse the effects of the condition over time and prevent it from getting any worse. To get the best results from Tretinoin one should use it along with alpha hydroxy acid agents which are normally used to treat acne. Jojoba oil, Tocopherol and Argania extract have also been linked to the successful treatment of Fordyce's spots[citation needed].

Vaporising laser treatments such as CO2 laser[7] or electro desiccation have been used with some success in diminishing the appearance of this condition if they are of cosmetic concern. However, most doctors consider this a normal physiological phenomenon and advise against treatment. Laser treatment can often leave significant scarring.[8]

Sometimes a doctor will prescribe TCA chemical peels, although as soon as treatment is stopped Fordyce’s Condition will return[citation needed]. Diathermy or liquid nitrogen freezing can also sometimes be used to remove the condition[citation needed].

Success varies per patient, but some have found relief through Pulse Dye Lasers,[9] a laser normally used to treat sebaceous gland hyperplasia,[10] which is similar to Fordyce spots. Treatment through Pulse Dye Lasers is usually expensive and doesn't scar.[10]

  7. QUESTION:
does tretinoin cream help get rid of fordyce spots on the penis?
im 19 and ive had them for 6 years now and i just wanna try and get rid of them, and i heard this cream helps, but is it also safe to put on your penis
and do you need a prescription to buy it and if not where can i buy it

    • ANSWER:
These spots are *not* acne, so using an acne treatment is not going to treat them, is it?

With what part of "normal, supposed to be there" do you have difficulty?

Tretinoin causes inflammation, and your penile skin is probably a lot more sensitive than most other places. I don't think it is going to kill you, but it might just feel like it. Nevertheless if you *really* are "into" knocking your body about for no good reason, go ahead and post your results here.

  8. QUESTION:
For the past month, I've had white spots around my lip. What is it?
It's sort of like the skin disorder, Vitiligo, but its tiny-the size of a quarter (quite embarrassing because people i talk to look at that). I'm just scared it might spread around my face and neck. Is there any over the counter cream I can use??

    • ANSWER:
it's called the Fordyce's condition. i have them too and they are very unsightly i agree! the good thing is... it is normal almost 90% of men have them too but to some extent they are less visible and just stay underneath the skin. it's due to the over activity of the sebaceous gland.... the gland that controls and produces natural oil. they can usually be found on the upper lips, border of mouth inside of the cheek, face (sometimes), and genital area. dermatologists don't find anything harmful with fordyce's condition and they find it very normal occurence in the body so they don't recommend any treatment except for cosmetic purposes. in my case... i just started with a little here and there... but i am not sure if it aready spreaded. my dermatologist recommend laser treatments to improve the appearance but i haven't tried it yet. i've also read that tretinoin cream can reverse the action of the condition and prevent it from getting worse. however, you must always seek first the advice of your dermatologist when it comes to matters like this. don't apply anything just yet. ask your doctor first. believe me... you are not the only one. hope i helped you.

    • ANSWER:
Ooce - How to Get Rid of Fordyce Spots
Fordyce's spots and “sebaceous prominence,” are small, painless, pale bumps or spots 1 to 3 millimeters in diameter that may appear on the labia. They are harmless, but are a great concern for cosmetic reasons. There is currently no standard treatment for Fordyce's spots, and doctors don't recommend treatment. It is possible however, to reduce the prominence of these spots, or even get rid of them completely.
When people first notice Fordyce's spots, they usually think that they're infected with a sexually transmitted disease or STD. On the contrary , these spots are not associated with any illness or disease, and are a natural occurrence on the body. In fact, they are estimated to be present in 70% to 80% of the population, which means they are very common. The exact cause of Fordyce's spots is unknown, although experts think that there is a genetic link. The condition isn't caused by viruses or bacteria, and also not contagious. The spots are large sebaceous glands. Usually, these spots are present at birth, but they don't become prominent until puberty.
Doctors don't recommend treatment for Fordyce's spots because the risk of complications outweigh the perceived advantages of not having the spots. The following treatments can reduce or completely get rid of your spots:
Tretinoin: Apply tretinoin cream or gel daily to the affected areas. This will reduce the prominence of the spots over time and prevent them from getting worse. Tretinoin cream works best when used in combination with alpha hydroxyacid agents. Tretinoin is a substance that's normally used to treat acne and keratosis pilaris or “chicken skin.”
Isotretinoin: The spots will likely reappear when you stop treatment, so keep on applying the medication. If the spots persist, try using Isotretinoin though, has a lot of side-effects, including: headache, urinary problems, rash, eye irritation, nosebleed, intestinal problems, dry skin, muscle and joint pains, chapped lips, temporary hair thinning, poor night vision, and depression. Do not take this drug if you're pregnant because it may affect your unborn child, and may cause damage to your liver. Talk to your doctor before using this medication.
Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) chemical peels: TCA peels are sometimes prescribed to reduce Fordyce's spots, but symptoms usually recur as soon as you stop treatment. TCA can peel deeper than other chemical peels that only cause mild skin flaking. It usually takes about a week for the skin to completely peel, and your doctor may recommend using a moisturizer during this time to hasten the peeling process. Also, make sure to use sun protection if you're using TCA on other parts of your body aside from the genitals, because skin becomes more sensitive during the peeling process.
Laser vaporization: The prominence of the spots can be reduced through vaporising laser treatments, such as CO2 laser or electro desiccation. Laser treatments though, may have side-effects such as burning or scarring, so talk to your doctor if this treatment is best for you.

Cryosurgery or cryotherapy: Cryosurgery uses extreme cold temperatures to destroy the spots. It is a minimally invasive procedure that often comes with minimal pain and scarring. Risks involved in this procedure include damage to nearby healthy tissue and nerves. It's normal to experience localized pain and redness after the procedure, but these can be alleviated by analgesics such as acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or aspirin. Blisters may also form, although these usually scab over and peel away after several days.
Surgical diathermy or electrosurgery: Surgical diathermy involves the use of high frequency alternating current to cut or cauterize small blood vessels to stop bleeding. It causes localized tissue damage and burning, which are controlled by the frequency and power of a device called electrosurgical generator.

Wait-and-see approach: Some people say that Fordyce's spots sometimes go away on their own, so consider just observing the symptoms for a couple of months to a year. Take note if they seem to be getting less prominent or if their numbers are decreasing. If symptoms don't go away after a long time, and if they are causing you real embarrassment, then consult your doctor for medical treatment. In addition, eat a balanced diet rich in folic acid, and vitamins A, C, D, E, K, and B complex, because these are good for your skin and promote normal metabolism.

  11. QUESTION:
is tretinoin safe to use on the penis for cyst and Fordyce's spots?
as title says, i got a little cyst on my penis it doesnt hurt but its annoying to have it there, can i use a tretinion cream or a BHA cream to get rid of it ? it would be safe ya? thanks

    • ANSWER:
I'm not so sure about using it for the cyst, it'll probably be fine, but get checked up straight away if not. For the Fordyce spots though, go for it. Just be careful and make sure you read the instructions and side effects. (Personally, I don't think Fordyce spots are anything you need to treat. They're very common and probably not something anybody will pick up on when they're in that general area ;) )

  13. QUESTION:
toothpaste and acne cream for fordyce spots on penis?
would using acne cream on your fordyce spots on penis get rid off them also using toothpaste on them every night before going to bed for 3 months and washing your penis every day with soap then resume through the day with acne cream on it or perhaps a sewing needle to penatrate frew them and pic them off

    • ANSWER:
I don't think it would work. Acne cream might have a minor effect.
Definitely don't penetrate with a needle. These are oversized sebaceous glands and you might manage to remove a bit of skin and make it look like they've gone if you do this, but the gland will remain unchanged and look just the same in a flash. And you might end up with infection and all sorts of nasties.

I have sebaceous hyperplasia on my face, which is a variant, and Fordyce’s condition on my lips. The Fordyce’s causes no problems and I leave it, but the hyperplasia can be beaten into submission with tretinoin cream. I have used Isotrex. It takes ages though. 6 months and you might see a little improvement. A chemical peel wil take them off, but they will come back again.
Tretinoin cream has to be on prescription from your doctor in the UK and is far stronger than acne creams.

Do you really need to get rid of them though? Loads and loads of people have Fordyce’s and they notice it far more than anyone else. Guys especially have it on their penises. Honestly women don't even notice. And I can't believe that it will do you any good to go at your penis with nasty chemicals.
When you're young you imagine all sorts of imperfections will have a detrimental effect on your life. When you're older you realise that we all have all sorts of imperfections and they're not important. Have you seen the really ugly guy with the gorgeous girlfriend? If you are a calm, happy person with a good heart and a pleasant way with you, it will do you much more good in life than physical perfection...

What kind of tretinoin gel or tretinoin cream should i get for my fordyce spots on my penis?
I have researched it online and tretinoin gel and tretinoin cream can get rid of fordyce spots on my penis, i know they are harmless, but I would be much happier without them.

First: What would be better? the cream or the gel?

If you have used it for fordyce spots yourself, please let me know how it went and what you used. Appreciate any help, thanks.

    • ANSWER:
I think you have to get a prescription for it. You cannot just buy it over the counter. It is used to treat acne, not fordyce spots. It promotes peeling of affected skin areas and unclogs pores.

  21. QUESTION:
I have a question about Fordyce Condition?
why do people get it? and is it contagious? can you pass it on to someone else if you share your saliva? and can someone show me a picture of it of Fordyce Condition on the inner lower lip? Thanks

    • ANSWER:
      Fordyce’s Condition

With Fordyce’s Condition an individual will have small and elevated yellow growths that can appear in groups on the lips, in the mouth, the tongue, cheeks, female labia and the penis. Although rare, it may also be found on the lower lip. An overgrowth of the sebaceous glands will cause the small yellow spots. These sebaceous glands usually don’t have a hair follicle. This condition is very common in young adults and is not a danger to them. There are no systemic conditions related to Fordyce’s Condition.

From childhood to adults, Fordyce’s Condition increases. Men are more likely to develop the condition with almost 90 percent of adult men having the condition. The condition can appear either as a single lesion or in a symmetrical group of up to fifty. The spots are typically two to five mm in diameter. The growth of the lesions will not affect surrounding tissue. The name of the lesion is derived from John Addison Fordyce who is the first person to write about it in 1896. When they appear on the genitals they may cause embarrassment, but they cannot be sexually transmitted and they are harmless. The lesions have no function in the mouth and do not have any associated pathologic changes.
      Causes of Fordyce’s Condition

While there seems to be a generic link, the cause for this condition is still unknown. The condition isn’t contagious and it isn’t caused by any viruses. At birth the papules are present but they don’t become prevalent until a child reaches puberty.
      Diagnosis of the Condition

Visual inspection is used for a doctor to diagnose the condition. It is sometimes called ectopic sebaceous glands and it is normally indicated by the yellow color of the papules and the location of the outbreak. Because of the vermilion border, Fordyce’s Condition is sometimes confused with warts. If the lesions appear on the genitals a doctor will take a biopsy or a blood sample since there are some sexually transmitted diseases that can look like Fordyce’s Condition.
Treatment Recommendations for the Appearance of the Yellow Papules

Although no treatment is required, you can choose to apply Tretinoin gel or cream to the affected areas each day. This can reverse the effects of the condition over time and prevent it from getting any worse. To get the best results from Tretinoin you should use it along with alpha hydroxy acid agents which are normally used to treat acne.

You can use Accutane if the condition persists. When you stop treatment the condition will reappear unless you continue to use Tretinoin gel or cream afterwards. There are several side-effects with Accutane that you should be aware of such as chapped lips, joint and muscle pains, temporary hair thinning, dry skin, itching, intestinal problems, nosebleed, irritation of the eyes, rash, urinary problems, poor night vision, depression and headaches. Accutane should not be used by pregnant women and it can also cause damage to the liver. Before using Accutane it is best to consult your doctor.

Sometimes a doctor will prescribe TCA chemical peels, although as soon as treatment is stopped Fordyce’s Condition will return. The condition can also be removed with laser vaporization. Diathermy or liquid nitrogen freezing can also sometimes be used to remove the condition. You should never pick or scratch the spots.

There is no reason to panic since Fordyce’s Condition is both harmless and occurs in many adults. Treatment is only needed if the lesions become ugly or cause real embarrassment. Since they are painless they shouldn’t interfere with lovemaking. Sometimes young boys are likely to panic and thing they have done something wrong, but a doctor’s visit will often set them at ease. Treatment will be in order once the exact causes of these yellow spots is known. Sometimes the condition can be confused with other skin diseases.

Specific diet or vitamin supplements can’t be recommended since the cause of the condition is still unknown. Although good oral hygiene and a balanced diet of folic acid, Vitamins C, A, D, E, K and B Complex is always important. The immune system is built up with the help of Vitamin C which is an antioxidant. Any bacteria in the bloodstream and the mouth can be killed with the help of garlic and normal metabolism is helped along by folic acid. While proper skin care around the genital areas is important it isn’t related to the appearance of the condition. The condition normally clears up on its own, but in severe cases treatment may be needed.

  23. QUESTION:
i have these tiny spots on my vagina and dont know what they are does anyone know what they are?

    • ANSWER:
Sounds like you got fordyce's spots don't worry most men me and women have them on the genital area's about 90% of people have it

Fordyce's Condition is no reason to panic

It is a skin condition in which small and elevated yellow growths develop in groups on the lips, in the mouth, tongue, cheeks, female labia, and the penis. You may sometimes find it on the lower lip as well, even though it is rare. The small yellow spots are caused by an overgrowth of the sebaceous glands. They are sebaceous glands without hair follicles. It is not dangerous at all and very common under young adults. There is no correlation between Fordyce’s Condition and systemic conditions.

Fordyce’s Condition increases from childhood to adults. It is more prevalent in men. The condition is found in almost 90 percent of adult men. They may appear as single lesions or as symmetrical groups of 50. The spots are 2 to 5 mm in diameter. Surrounding tissue is not affected by the growth of the lesions. The lesion derived its name from the person who first wrote about it in 1896, John Addison Fordyce. They may cause embarrassment when they appear on the genitals, but they are harmless and cannot be sexually transmitted. They don’t have any function in the mouth and there are no pathologic changes that can be associated with them.

      Causes of Fordyce’s Condition
The cause for it is still unknown, but there seems to be a generic link. It is not caused by viruses and isn’t contagious. The papules are present at birth but only become prevalent when the child reaches puberty.

      Diagnosis of the condition
The doctor diagnoses it through visual inspection. The yellow color of the papules and the location is normally and indication of ectopic sebaceous glands as it sometimes called. Warts are sometimes confused with Fordyce’s Condition because the vermilion border is involved in both instances. Some sexually transmitted diseases may look like Fordyce’s Condition and the doctor will take a biopsy or blood sample if they appear on the genitals.

  24. QUESTION:
[girls] would you have sex with someone with forcyde?

    • ANSWER:
If they are fordyce spots, treatment is not necessary, but those with the condition can choose to apply tretinoin gel or cream to the affected areas each day. This can reverse the effects of the condition over time and prevent it from getting any worse. To get the best results from Tretinoin one should use it along with alpha hydroxy acid agents which are normally used to treat acne. Jojoba oil, Tocopherol and Argania extract have also been linked to the successful treatment of Fordyce's spots.

  26. QUESTION:
how do you get Fordyce's spots off your penis?
ive had them for a while and im to afraid to go the docter so how do i get rid of them

    • ANSWER:
      Treatment

Although no treatment is required, those with the condition can choose to apply Tretinoin gel or cream to the affected areas each day. This can reverse the effects of the condition over time and prevent it from getting any worse. To get the best results from Tretinoin one should use it along with alpha hydroxy acid agents which are normally used to treat acne. Tocopherol and Argania extract have also been linked to the successful treatment of Fordyce's spots.

Vaporising laser treatments such as CO2 laser[8] or electro desiccation have been used with some success in diminishing the appearance of this condition if they are of cosmetic concern. However, most doctors consider this a normal physiological phenomenon and advise against treatment.

Sometimes a doctor will prescribe TCA chemical peels, although as soon as treatment is stopped Fordyce’s Condition will return[citation needed]. The condition can also be removed with laser vaporization[citation needed]. Diathermy or liquid nitrogen freezing can also sometimes be used to remove the condition[citation needed].

Success varies per patient, but some have found relief through Pulse Dye Lasers, [9] a laser normally used to treat sebaceous gland hyperplasia, [10] which is similar to Fordyce spots. Treatment through Pulse Dye Lasers is usually expensive and doesn't scar. [11]

  27. QUESTION:
i need help with Fordyce's spots?
i found out i have fordyce's spots, does anyone know how to get rid of them? i have had them for a wile so im just happy i finally know what they are, and i was wondering if i could get rid of them? thank you!
    Derek.

    • ANSWER:
      1.) Tretinoin Cream
      2.) Isotretinoin (medication)
      3.) TCA Chemical Peels
      4.) Laser Treatment
      5.) Cryosurgery (freeze them off)
      6.) Electrosurgery
7.) Sometimes they just go away on their own

There are many methods of getting rid of Fordyce's Spots, but most of them either are not 100 percent effective, or can lead to serious side effects. I'll tell you that you really shouldn't worry about your spots though, 90 percent of males have them, and therefore most girls don't really mind. I personally advise that you just live with it, and if a girl asks about them? Just make sure to tell her its not an STD and that its a normal condition.

    • ANSWER:
Here's a good idea, but you still might want to get checked out just in case it isn't what I think it is....I'm thinking it might be something called "Fordyce Spots". These are nothing to worry about, if it is this. It is a skin condition in which small and elevated yellow growths develop in groups on the lips, in the mouth, tongue, cheeks, female labia, and the penis. The small yellow spots are caused by an overgrowth of the sebaceous glands. They are sebaceous glands without hair follicles. It is not dangerous at all and very common under young adults.Fordyce’s Condition increases from childhood to adults. It is more prevalent in men. It should not interfere with lovemaking because they are painless. Young boys sometimes panic and think they have done something wrong, but a visit to the doctor sets them at ease. Bottom line: dont pick or itch them if possible, and maybe use some hydocortizone in mean time to help with the itch, but you might want to go to a doctor so they can prescribe you something to make it go away.

      Hope this helped!

    Fordyce's spots help?
I've had these Bumps on my penis known as Fordyce's spots for the longest time, I've interested on how to remove them and lower there appearance anybody know any creams that might be of use.

    • ANSWER:
fordyce are glands raised up in skin and are not harmful.

Natural cures that have shown treatment success with Fordyce's are jojoba oil, tocopheral (vitamin E), and Argania extract. Jojoba oil has properties similar to the oils produced by the oil glands in human skin. Argania extract comes from an evergreen tree indigenous to Morocco. The extract is an emollient oil that has a lot of nutrients and is often used in cosmetics. Also you can use creams made of or with hydroxy acid.

Chemical cures are: Tretinoin gel or chemical peels or vapor laser treatment.

      Good luck!

  34. QUESTION:
how to get rid of fordyce spots?

    • ANSWER:
      Hey!
      Simple things to do:)

Try Tretinoin: Apply tretinoin cream or gel daily to the affected areas. This will reduce the prominence of the spots over time and prevent them from getting worse. Tretinoin cream works best when used in combination with alpha hydroxyacid agents. Tretinoin is a substance that's normally used to treat acne and keratosis pilaris or “chicken skin.

      OR do

Laser vaporization: The prominence of the spots can be reduced through vaporising laser treatments, such as CO2 laser or electro desiccation. Laser treatments though, may have side-effects such as burning or scarring, so talk to your doctor if this treatment is best for you.

      hope this helps xxxx

    Bumps on penis!!(help)?
What do you guys do about your fordyce spots? I want them gone but my techniques are not working,

    • ANSWER:
Fordyce spots on the penis are harmless and there is no pressing medical reason to seek treatment. However, the appearance of Fordyce spots on and around the penis can be distressing,
The key to treating Fordyce spots in the male genital area is to reduce the amount of sebum (grease) being produced in the skin of the penis. Anti-Sebum is a treatment that has been specially developed by leading dermatology firm CU-skin Cosmeceuticals to treat Fordyce spots in every area of the body, including the penis and around the mouth.

Go to the doctor, and ask him to prescribe Tretinoin gel or cream. It helps reduce the appearance of Fordyce spots.

And it isn't a big deal. Allmost every guy has them. :D

Just because the person below me brought it up... You can't get warts by masterbating, or any other disease. masterbation is the healthiest way to relieve sexual tension. But when you do decide to have sex, yes wear a condom and keep in mind you can still get many stds, even if it doesn't break. Get checked regularly and try not to sleep around :)
