Also, I heard that lemon juice/cucumber juice does the trick because it lightens you're skin, does anyone know if this is true? I don't want to get into anything unless i know it is safe.

    • ANSWER:
      Remedy 1: Vitamin E

Try applying vitamin E to the scarred area three to four times daily to help reduce its visibility. If you keep at it, you should see some results after one to two weeks. It takes a long time before you get really noticeable effects.

      Remedy 2: Tomato

Placing slices of tomato on your skin can act as an astringent to break up oil, lift away dead skin and help prevent acne. The pulp of the tomato has the strongest astringent properties.

      Remedy 3: Toothpaste

Apply a dab of toothpaste on your pimple before bed. This is useful for new pimples, especially big ones. Whenever I spot a new pimple, I try this. Usually the next morning, it will be dried out enough to pop on its own.

      Remedy 4: Honey and pearl

A useful facial pack for acne is honey and pearl powder.

Apply a mask of it for 15 minutes. If you can keep doing it every week, your skin will become lighter and smoother.

      Remedy 5: Lemonsf

Lemon juice is effective in lightening the dark spots left by acne and pimples.

First, cleanse the scarred area with water. Soak up a teaspoon of lemon juice with a cotton ball and smooth it over the marks. Leave the juice in place for ten minutes, then rinse.

Be careful how often you use lemon juice: it can have the side effect of making your skin light sensitive. Make sure to cover treated areas with sunscreen before going outdoors.

      Remedy 6: Tea tree oil

Some medications made from natural ingredients, such as rosehip seed oil and tea tree oil, will not only help to heal scars, but also significantly work to prevent future scarring.

      Remedy 7: Fruits

In addition to eating fresh fruits to supply your skin with collagen-building vitamin C, you can also smear them onto your face as an acidic exfoliant.

Puree a quarter cup of pineapple and smooth it onto your face. Leave it in place 10-15 minutes, then rinse.

Pineapple contains ascorbic acid which helps brighten the face and fade acne. Apple works similarly. Soak a slice of apple in hot water till soft, then apply it to any scarred areas. Leave it for 20 minutes, and then rinse.

      Remedy 8: Leeks

Peel the membrane from white are of the leek while watching TV or resting. Place a peeling over scarred areas for ten minutes every day. You can secure it with a bandage to keep it from falling off. Keep this up for a few weeks and you'll see the color fade a lot.

      Remedy 9: Ginger

After cleaning your skin, cut a few slices of fresh ginger and apply to the affected area for 20 minutes. You'd better do this laying down, otherwise the ginger may fall off. It might burn a little, but probably not too much. The ginger may leave behind a bit of redness after you removeit, but don't be too worried. Just wipe off and have a good rest. In the morning, the scar should become smooth, and will hopefully fade completely within two weeks.

Remedy 10: Granulated salt and sugar

Some netizens said granulated salt and sugar are useful. Personally, I prefer sugar. After washing your face, mix some sugar and water in your hand and rub your face for two minutes, then rinse.

The best treatment is prevention. You should try to prevent acne from ever forming. Below are some ways to reign in the red bumps:

      1. Include green, leafy vegetables and fruits in your diet. Drink a lot of water to to regularly to flush out toxins, and don't forget to drink a glass before breakfast to flush out the stomach. Avoid deep-fried snacks.

      2. Try to have at least one bowel movement per day.

      3. Get to bed before 11pm. You have to give your body enough rest time or it won't heal. Don't snack before bed

      4. Don't use a computer any longer than you need to, and keep your phone a distance from your bed. Theradiation both put out can have noticeable effects on your skin.

      5. Change your bedsheets and pillow covers often. Those areas are like magnets for dead cells, dander, mites and dust - all of which can cause an acne breakut. Some skin experts even recommend changing pillow cases daily.

      6. Resist the urge to pop your pimples. It can cause even more damage to the skin and worsen scarring. Resist the temptation!

      7. If you get acne on your body, try not to wear tight clothes that will prevent your skin from breathing. You may want to avoid scarves, headbands and caps which can also collect dirt and oil.

Lastly, don' expect scars to vanish overnight. The ultimate remedy to remove acne scars is persistence. Be confident about yourself and believe you are beautiful, and be confident that others find you beautiful too

  7. QUESTION:
Does Toothpaste work to remove pimples overnight?
I have a pimple and I want to know does toothpaste work?

    • ANSWER:
Nope or at least 99% will not. The ingredient that dries up the zit is zinc BUT very very few toothpastes contain it and therefore won't do anything but irritate your skin and leave a red 'burn' like mark behind. Don't believe me? Just search here on yahoo answers, there's a question at least once a day from someone asking how to get rid of it. Many people THINK it works because either it started healing on it's own or from the placebo effect (i.e. they think it's better when in reality, nothing has changed), add in the like 5 people who use the correct type of toothpaste and you have yourself a 'toothpaste cures zits' myth that everyone believes but never works.

Its not just using a product. You must do the basics as well. Wash your face twice a day with a good acne soap. Drink lots of water ( 8-10 glasses a day ) and avoid caffeine. Eat fresh fruits and veggies and avoid greasy foods. Keep your hair away from your face. Wash or change your pillowcase at least
every other day. And try to stay as stress free as possible. For a quick fix, try putting some white toothpaste on it overnight. Some have said that works good.

Your teen years are hard but stick to the basics the best you can and use a product or two to help you along. Try acne exposed products or clear pores system. You can get more acne info at the site below

  16. QUESTION:
What is the simplest way to remove pimples?
I have a big pimple on my nose and I want to get it off before my mom makes me go see a dermatologist. Are there any ways that pimples can be removed WITHOUT popping them and that don't take forever?

    • ANSWER:
Look for face washes which contain the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide. This is the key ingredient in some of the best face washes. use a 5-10% benzoyl peroxide of mild to moderate acne and 10% for severe.

Try smashing one tablet of aspirin in a small bowl, then adding lemon juice to the mixture. Aspirin is acetesalicylic acid, chemically related to salicylic acid. Apply to the affected areas overnight. It boosts the healing process while reducing redness.

Try putting toothpaste (paste, NOT gel) on your face, cover it with a bandage, and keep it on all night. When you wash it off in the morning your acne will look better. The astringent and surfactant nature of the toothpaste will help diminish the appearance of pimples. But the toothpaste has been known to burn sensitive skin of the face, so be careful. If your face does burn, stop acne treatments and work on healing your burn.

Try using Bentonite Clay, a natural mineral powder which has been known to absorb impurities and help neutralise the skin's oiliness, and can be found online. Mix 2 tablespoons with a dash of cold water and smooth over the face as a thick paste. Once dried gently wipe off with a flannel or sponge.

      Bye...

      4) Bamboo extract or Sarna lotion – good for rosacea, psoriasis, eczema
      5) Bio Oil or BB cream for dark spots or scars

Applied lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to face or you can drink it through using it in water a few drops a day. Will help with both acne, and scars as well. Another way you can get rid of acne is by taking bamboo extract something I started when I had the problem really does work. Hope this works for you.

OR: Here are seven best methods to clear up blemishes.

      Tea-Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is a popular home remedy for acne. An essential oil is diluted and applied topically to acne lesions. How is tea tree oil believed to work? Tea tree oil contains a constituent called terpinen-4-ol that's thought to be responsible for most of tea tree oil's anti-bacterial activity. Because tea tree oil can kill bacteria, applying topical tea tree oil to acne lesions is believed to kill Propionibacterium acnes, the skin-dwelling bacteria involved in acne.To treat mild, occasional breakouts.
How it works: Distilled from the leaves of an Australian shrub, tea-tree oil contains antibacterial and anti-microbial compounds called terpenoids that help kill the bacteria that, when trapped behind oil in a plugged pore, lead to acne breakouts. Try Burt’s Bees Herbal Blemish Stick (, burtsbees.com). A roller-ball tube makes for easy application.Studies testing tea-tree oil against the gold-standard acne treatment, benzoyl peroxide, have shown that while the latter works more quickly, tea-tree oil is equally effective over time. And it results in fewer annoying side effects—namely, dryness and redness.

      Sulfur
      If you have sensitive skin.
How it works: A time-tested, gentle acne fighter, sulfur “acts like a sponge to draw oil out of blocked pores,”. This dries up pimples and keeps sebum production in check, helping to prevent future blemishes. Sulfur has a distinct smell—think rotten eggs. Most preparations that use it contain a masking fragrance. However, to play it safe (and avoid scaring off coworkers), apply these products at night.

      Salicylic Acid
To treat and soothe red, inflamed blemishes.Salicylic acid can have a calming, anti-inflammatory effect on pimples. “It also breaks down the ‘cement’ between cells in clogged pores to help unplug them,”
Salicylic acid is less irritating than more potent treatments, so it may be better for those with dry skin. It also tends to work well on stubborn blackheads.

      Retinoids
      Nightly to prevent breakouts.
How they work: Retinoids, which include over-the-counter retinol and prescription-strength Retin-A, reduce acne by altering the oil chemistry on the skin. “They help stop dense sebum from getting stuck within the pores,” says Gross. Without oil deposits, bacteria can’t grow and cause blemishes. Since retinoids can make skin sensitive to the sun, doctors recommend using them at night (and being diligent about wearing sunscreen during the day). To avoid irritation, apply every other evening to start, gradually working up to nightly use. Bonus benefit: Retinoids have been shown to increase collagen production and plump fine lines, making them a good choice if you’re dealing with acne and wrinkles.

      Blue-Light Therapy
If you want the latest preventive treatment—and don’t mind plunking down some cash for it.
How it works: Once or twice a week, you use a handheld device to aim a beam of blue light onto your skin. “Its wavelength hits and kills acne-causing bacteria,” so any brewing pimples never come to the surface. This method will not address existing blemishes. Doctors typically suggest combining blue-light therapy with other remedies, such as topical treatments. To make things easy, consider a blue-light device that comes in a kit. At-home devices are smart alternatives to multiple costly treatments at a doctor’s office.

      Oral Antibiotics
If you experience painful bumps below the skin surface and your pimples leave lasting marks. “Oral antibiotics act from the inside to kill the bacteria that cause acne,” says Keri. They also reduce the inflammation associated with pimples, so deep-seated blemishes hurt less and leave fewer scars.

Doctors usually prescribe them to get a severe condition under control and may then switch to topical treatments. Some antibiotics must be taken on an empty stomach, so read the label carefully.

Is toothpaste really effective in removing pimples?
I've got a semi-formal coming up in a week and i just got a massive pimple on my chin. I know it's a bit early to really start worrying about it but i have a history of retaining pimples for weeks.

I've tried Clean and Clear's fast pimple remover and nothing has really happened. It says results in 24 hours but it's been two days.

Anyway, so the next thing available to me is toothpaste. Is it really effective and would it be alright on sensitive skin?

  22. QUESTION:
How do I get a scar of a pimple off of my nose overnight?
Last night I had toothpaste on a pimple on my nose...But it worked to help bring it down... But then I woke up and scratched it by mistake and now I have a horrible scar on my nose!!! Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get rid of it overnight? Or maybe a cure so it can get better sooner.

    • ANSWER:
I had a mole removed on my face and it left a pretty big mark. The dermetologist who was the head of reconstructive surgery told me to use vaseline only. The most important thing in helping skin heal is to keep it soft and moisturized. He said that neosporin can actually iritate it. I have a cousin that for her whole life she put vaseline on her face twice a day, I tell you, it's the best looking skin I've seen around. But if you're just starting out, expect to break out until your skin adjusts to having that much moisture in it.

  23. QUESTION:
How do i get rid of pimples fast?
I've tried lemon juice, toothpaste, and actual pimple cream and none seem to have an effect much on pimples.

    • ANSWER:
I <3 Neutrogena and I use Clean & Clear cleansing pads (from the Avon magazine).

First, start using the Neutrogena advanced solution set which you can find in any supermarket. Get the Neutrogena foundation or concealer for acne.

Not only does it cover the blemishes smoothly, it gets rid of them!!!!! YAY!!! At least it worked for me.

If you decide to use to use the Neutrogena, carry a makeup bag with it in it.

Or if you are into home remedies (the get-rid-of-quick kind of stuff) here's what I can tell you:

Trying to clear them up in one day is hard and can leave your skin inflamed for a while...

HOWEVER, there are a few remedies that I have experimented with. My friends and family were happy to share some with me.

      1. Apply lemons or tomatoes to your face, cut them into fours, and rub along face. Go to sleep and the next day- your pimples should be visibly smaller.

      2. A mask of grated apple mixed with a little honey is an excellent remedy for pimples. Most facial masks can be applied to the skin for 15-20 minutes then washed off with warm water, followed by a cold rinse.

      3. Another overnight home remedy for zapping a zit is to put a dab of toothpaste on it to help dry it out. You may need to test this on a short-term basis to make sure it doesn't irritate your pimple. Calamine lotion will have the same drying effect. (THIS ONE WORKED FOR ME, MY FRIEND GIT A RED RASH HOWEVER).

      4. Grind some nutmeg with milk and apply on affected area. Pimples disappear like magic without leaving a mark.

      5. Make a paste of roasted & powdered pomgranate skin with fresh lime juice and apply over PIMPLES.

      6. Rubbing alcohol

      7. Mix corn flour with egg white and apply on your face. Let is dry completely for 1/2 hour. Dip your hands in warm water and massage your face and wash off. This when repeated regularly gives you a smooth skin.

      8. Honey

      9. Dilute some lemon juice with water and dab on pimples to kill germs, cool inflammation and improve blood circulation. Lemon is also good for removing scars. That means any pimples you popped in angst that left a scar will go away over time. Lemon contains acid so it's like having an acid peel thing going, but not. Your skin will be so clear you can set that makeup aside for special occasions.

MOST OF THESE THINGS ARE EASY TO FIND- I didn't include things that are hard to find. I hope on of these works for you.

Though if you are willing to wait, Neutrogena advanced solution has done wonders for me.

Sorry for the length, GOOD LUCK! iHate pimples

    • ANSWER:
      Hello,

How to Get Rid of Acne:

      Application of Ice
This is an easy way to get rid of pimples overnight. You have to pack up some crushed ice in an aluminum foil in order to prevent them from getting melted quickly. Then put it inside a plastic bag and wrap up the pack with a thin towel. Now apply it over the pimples for 10 to 15 minutes. This will shrink the pores forcing the oil and dirt out of it. When the two main culprits are out, you can expect the pimple to clear up in no time.

      Toothpaste
You can get rid of pimples overnight using toothpaste. Many people find it highly beneficial for this purpose. Take some toothpaste on the tip of your finger and apply it on the pimple in such a way that the entire pimple is covered up with the toothpaste properly. Leave it on the pimple overnight. Next morning when you wash it off with warm water, you will be pleasantly surprised with the result. The trick is that the toothpaste absorb all the oil from the pimple and reduce its size so much that it becomes invisible. However, a toothpaste with gel content is not suitable for this treatment.

      Baking Soda
Baking soda is considered as one of the best home remedies for getting rid of pimples overnight. Prepare a thick paste using one cup of baking soda, 3 tablespoons of salt and some water. Rub this paste gently over the affected areas of your face making small circular motions. Leave it on the acne for few minutes and then wash your face with cool water. The exfoliant property of the salt removes the dead skin cells from the pores. The baking soda soften up the skin and restore the normal pH balance of the skin. As a result, the pimple clears up fast.

      Egg Mask
A simple egg mask can help you in getting rid of pimples from your face. Take one or two eggs as per your requirement. Break them and separate the white portion of the eggs from the yolk. It is the egg white that you need to apply as facial mask on your face. Keep it on the face overnight and then wash off with cold water.

      Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is known for its healing and disinfecting properties. To apply it, start with washing the face thoroughly with an antibacterial soap. Pat dry with a towel and then taking a cotton ball apply apple cider vinegar evenly on the affected skin. Leave on for fifteen minutes before washing it off with cold water.

      Clear Acne Scars Naturally:

Tea Tree Oil: This natural oil is also very effective to clear acne scars fast but make sure to purchase pure tea tree oil from a reliable source. This approach, that involves applying 2-3 drops of tea tree oil on the scar, has proven beneficial to clear the scars.

Honey: Usage of honey is yet another way to erase those unsightly marks. However, before you use this natural remedy, exfoliating the skin is very important. Use of exfoliating brush removes the dead cells that have accumulated on the scars. Applying honey after gentle exfoliation ensures successful removal of acne scars at the earliest.

So, after you gently exfoliate the affected area for around 2-3 minutes, take Manuka honey and spread it on the skin showing scars. Once, you have applied it properly, let it remain for 20 minutes. Then rinse your face using warm water and natural soap. Follow this skin care regimen for about a month and you will definitely notice healthy glowing skin free from acne scars.

Vitamin E: Vitamin E tops the list of nutrients when it comes to overall well-being of the skin. The nutrient protects the skin from the ravaging effects of free radicals. Hence, it is no surprising that topical use of vitamin E lotion can work wonders to eliminate acne scars. Application of vitamin E lotion twice daily that does not contain any mineral oil can definitely lead to substantial reduction of acne scars. Instead of lotion, one may use vitamin E oil and then leave it on the face for 15 minutes. You are then expected to wash your face with a mild cleanser.

Pureed Fruit: Pureed fruits like apple and pineapple are full of ascorbic acid, an important ingredient of many skin care products. Ascorbic acid has shown to be beneficial in lightening acne scars and improving the look of the skin. Gently rub the puree of pineapple or apple on the face. Allow it to settle and do not remove it for 15 minutes. You can then wash it off with warm water.

Lemon Juice: Daily application of fresh lemon juice (3-4 drops) on the acne scars can also help to clear this skin problem as early as possible. For severe acne scars, application of lemon juice may only lighten the scar, and might not remove it entirely.

Overnight way to get rid of pimples and fade red spots?

    • ANSWER:
Alcohol does in fact kill bacteria. Most over the counter acne products contain alcohol. Don't rub it all over your face or it will dry out your face and force your body to produce more oil.

      Maybe tea tree oil?

P.S. Toothpaste has many harsh chemicals & harsh abrasives .... so you may only want to try it once...

  30. QUESTION:
How do you get rid of pimples in a day or two?
I'm forming pimples above my lips, how do you get rid of it? How do you get rid of the pimples that are already starting to form? There's two bumps and I don't want to wait till its ready to pop. Whenever I pop my pimples it turns into scars. How do I get rid of these pimples in a day or two without scarring?

    • ANSWER:
Other than washing your face a lot : (This is for pimples)

Ice down the acne before bed, by morning it should be noticeably less swollen. Works best on larger pimples that have not yet formed a head.

Put toothpaste on your pimple before you go to bed, should help reduce swelling overnight. Make sure it is the paste not the gel. One of the most popular acne home remedies. Becareful it might make your skin dry. If your skin gets dry use a moisturizer lotion.

Tea Tree oil can also be applied directly to infected pores.

Apply fresh lemon juice on the affected area overnight. Wash off with warm water next morning. This might also make your skin dry.

      Drink plenty of water.

Pimple Removal : (only do this on pimples that have formed a head)

Prepare for a small surgical pimple removing procedure. You'll need a small sewing needle, a bottle of alcohol, some gauze (or a small band-aid), and some warm water. Some people think you'll need to run a needle through a flame. This isn't Dr. Quinn Medicine woman. Rubbing alcohol will do.
Wash your face and hands before attempting to pop the pimple. Washing your face and hands ensures that all makeup, oils, germs and bacteria are no longer near the pimple you're about to burst. Also, dip a majority of the needle in the alcohol, and for safe measure apply some of that alcohol to your fingers and the pimple--dabbing with some gauze to dry the area.
Prick the white part of the pimple very lightly with the tip of your needle. Once you've done that, put two small squares of gauze on either side of the pimple and apply pressure with two fingers to ensure that the remaining puss is squeezed out of the pore, retaining pressure until clear liquid appears. When clear liquid or blood appears, you'll know the pimple is gone.
Wipe the pimple clean with an alcohol soaked gauze pad. It'll sting a little, but that's a good thing. The alcohol will kill most of the bacteria in and around the wound, helping you to avoid an infected pimple. If you wish, you can put a small, sterile bandaid on the area or cover it with an antibacterial concealer

How do you get rid of and prevent pimples on your chin?
My chin has a bunch of small pimples and they never seem to go away. I hate it and I don't know what to do, do you think its from oils from when I eat or something? I live in a humid climate, and will be moving to a dry climate very soon, will that help any? Also, if you have any home remedies for this, it would be great.

    Thank you, bye :)

    • ANSWER:
If you get a pimple or acne, spread some toothpaste over it and within a few days or a week, it should be gone. It works great for me! Just make sure it's a paste and not some other type of toothpaste that's only meant for brushing your teeth. Like a gel of some sort. Don't use that or anything like it. If you choose to try toothpaste, make sure it's a paste only; that's the only way it would work.

Wash your face a few times a day. In the morning when you wake up, at night before you go to bed and possibly throughout the day if you feel like it. It's very good to clean out your pores.. best using warm water, then pat-dry your face with a soft towel. This gives you healthier skin.

Here is a little trick for getting rid of pimples using salt and water:

      You will need:
-salt (any type, but the best is sea salt)
      -water
-a cup to keep the water in
      -a few cotton balls

1: Salt the water thoroughly. Make sure the water is fresh though. You may steer it using a spoon if you'd like.
2:Dip one cotton ball in the salt water and keep it there for about 30-60 seconds.
3: Take out the cotton ball and squeeze out the water until it's damp, but not dripping.
4: Place the damp cotton ball over your pimple. If you have a few pimples in the same area, try and place the cotton ball spreading over as many as you'd like.
5: Watch a clock, watch or anything else you have telling time and wait exactly three minutes. You're welcome to watch TV, read or do something while waiting for the time to go by. Those three minutes may get a bit boring.
6: Remove the cotton ball after the time has passed. The pimple should be almost gone, but not completely.
7: Grab two more cotton balls and place them on the almost disappeared pimple together.
8: Slowly move them closer together until the tiny acne is flattened. YAY!!
9: Apply honey on the area you conquered.
      10: Go to sleep.

Note: The last three steps are very important; don't skip them or the pimple will come back within about an hour.

You can try applying "Head & Shoulder Shampoo" to clear out any acne. It works great!!

If you think you're getting a pimple at any time, ice it. Hold the ice cube over that area for about 5-10 minutes. It really does work!!

You can try Lemon juice for any acne. Just apply some onto the acne each day. Lemon juice is VERY healthy for your skin. There's no guarantee that the acne will be gone, but it's still great for the skin.

KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF YOUR FACE. Touching your face allows dirt and bacteria to enter your pores which will probably cause pimples and acne to appear. So unless your hands are washed and clean, don't pick on your zits.
DON'T EVER TRY POPPING PIMPLES OR ZITS. This may cause your skin to scar or leave serious wounds. Besides, it'll most likely come bad bigger and worse.

Eat healthy. Try to stay away from sweets. Most of the time acne comes from eating things with too much sugar. Eating healthy things like fruits and vegetables may even get rid of unwanted bumps on your face. It's also really good for your skin in general.

Exercise daily to stay in shape, have a strong heart and have a healthy body and skin. Did you know, that every time you exercise, you're adding onto your life spam? You're building on strength in your heart and body which makes you live a longer and better life. Every time you exercise, you're making your life longer. Remember that. And when you finish a good work-out, you'll feel really good. Yes, you'll be sweaty and breathing hard, but you'll feel healthier and stronger immediately.
Exercise improves your skin. Makes it cleaner and brighter. It really good for the skin.

If you want, make a paste yourself!!
There are many different types to apply onto your skin to make it healthier.
      Here's one way:
      1. Slice an apple and smash it or cut it up as tiny as possible.
      2. Boil it with plain milk until it's a warm paste.
      3. Once it's cooled down a bit, play the paste on you face to immediately feel a healthy change in your skin.

Drink lots of water. It gives your skin a little glow and healthier/brighter look, Drink at least 8 cups a day; even more, the better.

Those are some of the best tips you can find!!
I really hope that helped you!! :)

basically the question explains it. anything that would be commonly found at home or anything along those lines is generally what i'm looking for. also tips in getting rid of pimples in general (still homemade) would be great. thanks in advance :)

    • ANSWER:
When I used to break out on my forehead I used creams but when those didn't work I rubbed some regular toothpaste (Just a bit) and spread it around my forehead.

I know, this sounds like it doesn't work but it actually does work effectively in 5-12 hours, just be sure to take a shower afterwards or at least clean your face.

I recommend spreading the paste at night before bed, then when you wake up wash your face and you're ready.

  38. QUESTION:
Does toothpaste help acne? And what are some other remedies for clearing acne?
I heard from a friend that toothpaste helps clear acne. Is this true?

Also, what are some other home remedies for clearing acne?

    Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Yes, you can apply toothpaste directly on the pimple & leave it on for about 15 mins or until it dries out. This just sucks out the oil and dirt from the pimple & makes sure it doesnt get any worse.

KEEPING YOUR SKIN HEALTHY(to clear acne)
Drink lots of water. 8 glasses of water. If you do not like the taste of water, add cranberry juice to give it some flavor. I am not even kidding. The key to beautiful skin is hydration. Hydrated skin keeps the skin soft and supple.

Eat Right: A cleanser is not the instant fix to beautiful skin, you MUST have a healthy diet. It does not matter if you are a strict vegan or a meat lover. I don't care if you eat McDonalds and fried chicken all day! Just make sure you have your daily dose of vitamins, calcium, protein and fiber. Vitamin C and E are known to help keep the skin rejuvenated.

Cleanse & Moisture: Your skin is like a sponge. It absorbs and collects all the junk in the atmosphere and the last thing you want to do is to sleep with all that nasty stuff on. Washing your face helps clear the pores and helps your skin breath. A healthy skin loves to breath folks!

Use sunscreen: Over SPF 30 UVA/UVB. Protect your skin

Sleep: Sleeping is the only opportunity your body gets to repair itself from a hard day of work, and you better bet your skin gets it's daily beatings. Sleeping will reduce dark circles and repair your skin from its daily damages. Also, when you are using a skin treatment, it is best to use it at night because your skin will absorb more and will be more active in repairing. So rest up properly.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti Wrinkle spf 15 .99

I have always recommended Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti Wrinkle spf 15 for youngsters. It is not too weak and not too strong. It has enough Retinol (the purest form of Vitamin A) to prevent and protect. I have used this moisturizer for years and I always see a difference in how bright my skin looks. I am loyal to this product.

      SCARS
Aloe Vera helps remove acne scars by acting as an immune booster and an anti inflammatory agent. It is also used to reduce infections to regenerate skin and is thus able to rebuild scarred areas.

Vitamin E - There has been studies where doctors have concluded that Vitamin E does not heal scars, but from personal experiences and speaking to other dermatologist we saw different results that showed that Vitamin E is beneficial.

Fish Oil- Omega-3 Fatty Acids helps heal the skin.(you can take the capsules for that)

      Meds you can take:
      Neosporin
      Mederma
      Retinol

You will not see an overnight change but eventually following this routine you will. I know you want to get it cleared up right now but for that to happen you'll have to change what you're doing.

  41. QUESTION:
How do i remove / prevent pimples in my nose?
I get pimples in my nose all the time. They are extremely painful. If i touch that side of my nose even the slightest bit, its so freaking painful. Sometimes i will even have multiple pimples. It seems like I have pimples in my nose more often than not having them. Am I picking my nose too much? is there a way to get rid of these or prevent them?

    • ANSWER:
Here are some "at home" things (these remedies are mostly used in the form of facial masks) you could try -

~Yogurt (Make sure it's PLAIN - no flavors, not even vanilla. You can use greek or regular).
~Strawberries (use alone, or mixed with yogurt).
~Pure, fresh honey (apply as a mask alone or with something)
~Lemon juice (soak a cotton ball in some freshly squeezed lemon juice and apply to your face and allow it to dry. Or add a few drops of it to something like honey and make a mask of it). This can help with acne, and help fade scars.
~Green tea (drink it, or just use the bags. If you just use the bags, make the tea like normal, then dump it, allow the bag to cool off and then rub it gently in circular motions all over the affected area(s) ).
~Fresh tomatoes (rub a slice all over the affected areas, mash it up to create a mask, or mix it with another helpful ingredient to make a mask).
~Orange peel (ground up in a blender and apply to the affected areas).
~Aloe vera (either gel, or straight from the plant. Apply to all over the affected area(s) and let dry. You could also mix it with other ingredients such as honey and or lemon juice to create a mask).
~Some people claim that hydrogen peroxide is wonderful for getting rid of acne. However, it's not exactly the best for skin. It can actually discolor your skin (especially if you're tan or dark skinned), so be careful if you try it. It can be bad if you have sensitive skin too (some people may have a reaction and that could create irritation).
~Some people swear the toothpaste remedy works, but tooth paste actually isn't the best to be applying to your bare skin. It can lead to increased redness and dryness.

Keep in mind that if you have sensitive skin, do a "patch test" to be sure whatever you choose won't irritate your skin. And if you're allergic to anything I mentioned, DO NOT use the product/mask! And if you have overly severe acne, you'll most likely be better off seeing a dermatologist to get good, quick results.

Myths behind acne and its causes -

A lot of people say and think that acne is caused by your diet. This isn't NOT all true. It's been proven that things like chocolate/sweets/candies or even "unhealthy stuff" like pizza, DO NOT cause/lead to acne! Another hilarious and false "cause" of acne is masturbation. This is the biggest line of crap EVER. Masturbating is normal and actually healthy and in no shape or form does it cause/lead to acne. If all of the false "causes" were actually real, the entire WORLD would be COVERED in acne haha

Now here's the TRUTH about acne and it's causes - A lot of times, acne is by hormonal issues/changes (example - pre-teens/teens get it when they're going through/entering puberty), makeup (a lot of facial makeups like foundations, powders, and concealers can clog your pores and dirty/clogged pores = acne/breakouts), or not taking care of your skin the right way/practicing proper personal hygiene.

I hope all this info is helpful to you. If you'd like a list of things you can do to help prevent acne, or other skincare info (such as proper ways to care for your skin and stuff), please let me know. I would of put it in this answer, but it's already lengthy, but I can add more if you want me to. I can edit this answer and add more, or I could comment on this page after the question is resolved, or you could send me a message on here. Whatever works best for you.

  42. QUESTION:
Can toothpaste get rid of spots and how?
I heard that if you cover a spot or zit with a bit of toothpaste it can help the spot dry up or something. Has this worked for you? And how does it work?

    • ANSWER:
It's everyone's worst nightmare. Waking up the day before a special event to discover a big, red pimple baring itself for all to see right on your face!

Here's how to get rid of it quickly and safely:

      1. Don't ever pinch, squeeze or pick at a pimple. This only causes it to become more red and inflamed, and will spread the bacteria and oils that caused it in the first place, to other parts of your face! It can also lead to scars.

      2. Every 30 minutes, apply an ice pack to the pimple and hold it there for about 2 minutes. This will decrease the swelling and redness and help shrink the inflammation and pain that sometimes comes along with it.

      3. They don't call it concealer for nothing! Covering the pimple with a light dose of flesh-tinted concealer can help mask it when you're in a hurry. It also helps cover up that oily shine.

      4. Cleanse your skin 2-3 times a day with mild, unscented soap or a specialized acne cleanser that has no harsh chemicals (such as lye). Scrub skin gently with an exfoliating pad or washcloth, but don't rub too hard, otherwise you'll sap your skin of its own natural oils, which help to repel buildup naturally.

      5. Apply a cream or ointment containing benzyl peroxide or salicylic acid (many over-the-counter acne medicines contain these ingredients) to the blemish or around the entire facial area. Note that these ingredients both have a tendency to dry out skin if used too much and are not recommended if you have sensitive skin.

      6. Wear oil-free makeup whenever possible. These types have less of a tendency to cause the pore buildup that results in blemishes. Remove your makeup nightly and cleanse with an acne-fighting medicine to remove dirt, oil and makeup from deep within the skin.

      7. If you're in need of a quick fix, a dab of toothpaste on the affected area right before bed can help soothe irritation and reduce redness. Pressing and holding a wet tea bag or a cotton ball with a dab of lemon juice against the blemish for five minutes can also reduce swelling and redness.

If you follow these tips, chances are you'll notice a significant difference rather quickly - often within a day or two. If pimples become a recurring problem or worsen, your doctor or dermatologist can suggest a daily skin cleansing routine that will suit your skin type. Other long-term remedies, such as facial masks, diet adjustments and increasing the amount of water you drink can also help combat outbreaks.

    • ANSWER:
      Hello Mandi,

How to Get Rid of Acne:

      Lemon Juice
Rub fresh lemon juice on your pimples with a gentle hand. The bleaching properties of lemon juice lighten the skin and thus reduce its appearance. Moreover, it removes the topmost layer of the skin surface where bacteria grows and controls the infection. Thus the healthy underlying skin is revealed. If you hesitate to use concentrated lemon juice on the pimple as you fear it may cause skin irritation, then you can dilute it with rose water.

      Steam and Clean
In the very initial stages of acne when it is still a small zit or just in the form of whitehead and blackhead you can try doing this. Clean your face with cleansing milk using cotton pads. Now scrub it with a gentle face scrub. Take steam on your face for about 8-10 minutes. Now take a sterilized blackhead remover and clean the blackheads and whiteheads. You can also try squeezing pimples if they are very small. Use a clean cotton pad to clean the pus or blood that flows out. Now finish by cleaning the area with an antiseptic lotion or a toner. This procedure will help keep your skin clean and avoid further acne breakouts. Following this everyday before going to bed is one of the easiest ways to get rid of acne fast at home.

      Acne Prevention Tips

•Do not touch the skin areas which are affected by acne with your fingers, as it can spread the infection to other skin areas as well.
•Maintain hygiene i.e., use clean bed sheets, pillow cases and towels. Dirty towels can be the breeding ground of germs and bacteria, thereby causing severe cases of acne breakouts.
•Dandruff and oil in hair can cause acne too, so to prevent that, avoid doing such hair styles which make your hair touch or fall on your face.
•Exercise everyday as it helps in proper blood circulation, and adequate transfer of oxygen to all the body cells. Exercising will help in both reducing stress and preventing acne.
•Take shower after undertaking any kind of exercise or physical activity to prevent dirt and sweat from getting accumulated in the skin pores.
•Drink lots of fluids and water as it will help in elimination of wastes and toxins from the body, resulting in a blemish free, glowing skin.

      For redness use eye drops.

      This works for me!

I wouldn't use Clearasil, or Neutrogena.

  49. QUESTION:
How do I get rid of pimples in less than 3 months? PLEASE ANSWER IM DESPERATE?
Well school starts in 3 months and im suddenly having a breakout of pimples?
Lately Ive been under stress because of Modern Warfare 2 (I brought that up because i heard stress causes pimples) SO what do you think i should do so i can have a clear face again?

    • ANSWER:
I used to suffer with acne too. Here are a few things you can try.

      1. Egg yolk. Take an egg, crack it, and take the yolk out. The yolk is the yellow part. Put it in a bowl and mix it until the yolk is very foamy. Then get a cotton, or a rolled up sheet of toilet paper and apply to your face. You feel your face tightening. That will tighten your pores and prevent future pimples.

      2. Wash your face every two hours. It will help a lot. For quicker results, every hour. Try to use unscented and/or antiperspirant soaps. Such as Dove, Ivory, and Irish Spring.

      3. I don't recommend this but in desperate cases, use hand sanitizer. It dries your face out really quickly so only apply it to your large pimples. Only do this once a week or it will cause you to break out even more.

      4. Apply toothpaste to your pimples overnight. In the morning, rinse it off and do the same each night. It will remove your pimples drastically.

      5. Don't use scented lotions for your face. Try to buy lotions that say face on them. Avoid cocoa butter lotion at all times. It is very thick.

      6. Drink plenty of water (5 bottles per day) and don't let silly things stress you out. Stress does cause acne.

If you follow these, your pimples will be gone within a month or two. Take it from a future doctor and someone who used to suffer with acne.

  50. QUESTION:
what items around the house have alcohol to get rid of pimples?
so i read many times that if you put alcohol on your face it gets rid of pimples...what items around the hous ewould i find this alcohol in? i heard perfume...is that true? what other items? and does alcohol on your pimples really work or does it break out more? last question...how long should i put the alcohol on my pimples?

    • ANSWER:
dab on actual pimple with a cotton tip if you must. Methylated spirits is a good one, however alcohols dry your skin severely and can make you more sun-sensitive so be careful! don't use perfume- too many other ingredients that are not good for the face and if you go out in the sun with it on your face you can cause pigmentation (brown marks/spots) where you applied the perfume- see older ladies necks who wear their perfume there! I find Benzac cream from a pharmacy is awesome. I've had pimples for 15 years now and was a beauty therapist for 7 years. I used to have really bad skin as a teen, so spoke to my GP who put me on the pill- worked a treat. I only get the odd couple now. It really depends on how bad your skin is. I also use toothpaste if I've picked and inflamed one as it cools the skin and reduces swelling. Also, cleansing and moisturising is still very important- use a soap free water soluble cleanser- then you don't need a toner as toners really only remove excess cleanser, and an oil free moisturiser. Good luck!
